Default odd river battle army placement

Playing as the HRE i put an army on the bridge just outside Venice. 2 army's then attacked me from the same side of the bridge but the re-enforcing army entered the battle from my side of the river, when on the campaign map he was on the other side... this happens all the time on that bridge. does it happen to anyone else? can i fix it?

I think it is because the attacking and defending stacks are rotated in the battle map so that the main player stack is always placed to the south, and the AI's main stack is placed in the north, but all the other involved stacks are not rotated in relation to the campaign map.

To confirm this, was the oddly placed stack located in the southwestern tile of the red square in the campaign map? So in the battle map they would show up in the same side of the river as you, to your left (you were on the Venice side, weren't you?).

It's just the bridge of Venice being messed up, I don't know how to fix it but it probably can be done by changing the map a little.

Old Venice bridge bug, yep, if there are two or more attacking armies.

Just more than two armies is enough, as they can't be attacking both at the same time.

they attacked from the west side, me being on the east. so there isn't anything i can really do about it other then put 2 army's there?

Well, you could report in the Bug Reports section and try to mod it away yourself before starting a new campaign, but not much else.
