    Default America in vanilla?

Until now I had only Vanilla installed and I just installed kingdoms for the first time.

When I first read about the kingdoms expansion I was under the impression it would be possible to sail to america from europe at some point. But after launching the america expansion it seems you just either play in europe or in america, not possible to play in both (I recently started a new vanilla game hoping to see america there).

So my question is: will america pop up in the map at some point in history (I thought 1492 was already beyond the natural end of the game), or is it impossible to have both continents in an unmodded game?

Now that is something we all agree with. Kingdoms expansion has 4 different campaigns each playable in 4 different regions, and each has a different purpose, the middle eastern crusade, the baltic crusade, the british isles warmongering for survival and the colonization of new discovered lands of America.
Anyways, good luck with your kingdoms, it's a great 4in 1 addon

    edit:
ups, i missed the part with new vanilla campaign, sorry

yes the Americas are in vanilla M2TW. It will appear way late into the game and you can only sail there after the "world is round" event and only with one of the latest ships available. I suggest you mod the game to have 1 year per turn instead of 2 then it will be more fun.
I've done it before and sailed over there, and it's not really all that easy to beat em, you will be in a huge forest most of the time and you will have no public order whatsoever....it's lots of fun tho

So I take it then america becomes available on 'turn X', rather than 'year X'?

Speaking of modding, and on a completely unrelated note, is it possible to somehow manage your tax/construction queue without a governor unit?

I think it is a bit annoying that you need a leader unit to do that. I rarely use my leaders in battle because I want to manage my cities, but always have way more cities than leaders available, and the buggers keep dying (and not breeding enough!)

uhm, america always becomes available in the year 'x' , but if you have 2 turns per year then it will take you longer to get the New World event, If you have 1 turn = 2 years (this is the default) you, of course, get the event sooner

oh, regarding managing your cities without a governor, when you start a campaign just check the option "manage all settlements"

Thanks Tudor, that was quite helpful. Already started a new game with the 'manage all' option enabled. It is great!

That's a mistake btw AI usually builds crap and is a waste of money and most of the times it's not even necessary to build anything.

What's a mistake? with the manage all option I can finally decide what to build, instead of letting the AI run rampant, which is what was ruining me before. Now I can focus all my settlements on economy so I don't go under as it happened to me before!

Are you sure Ishan, because i saw this thing near the bottom of the screen when you open up the scroll where its says your condition etc.
And ther on the once, you can decide how much the AI can spend or spare :O.
Its like a little ball wich you can put left or right (spare or spend). I think that effects the spending of the AI, when you let the AI build doesnt it?

Yeah that is a different option in the overview scroll i was talking about the settlement options.
Anyways i find AI management to be a waste player can manage it more effectively manually.
