    Default question about attacking

    In the campaign_db file, which line is responsible for determining if a army can attack another army, say if they come close to their town/castle? I know that <siege_att_str_modifier float="0.30"/> has to do with sieging walls but what about land battles.

    Code:
    		<!-- ATTACK PLANNER -->
    		<!-- modifies the effective attackers strength when determining the priority of making attack decision (i.e. att_def_strength_ratio = ((att_str*att_str_modifier)/def_str) -->
    		<att_str_modifier float="0.7"/>
    		<!-- modifies the effective sieging attackers strength when determining the priority of making attack decision -->
    		<siege_att_str_modifier float="0.4"/>
    		<!-- modifies the effective crusading sieging attackers strength when determining the priority of making attack decision -->
    		<crusade_att_str_modifier float="3.0"/>
    		<!-- modifies the effective sallying attackers strength when determining the priority of making attack decision -->
    		<sally_att_str_modifier float="0.9"/>
    		<!-- modifies the effective ambushing attackers strength when determining the priority of making attack decision -->
    		<ambush_att_str_modifier float="10.0"/>
    The first one is general, the following items are specific to different situations.

    Ok. Which one relates to open field battles? It appears to be the first one. So, .7 would mean that an army would have to be at least 70% as strong to attack??

    Not quite. It modifies the attackers perception of it's own strength. So 0.7 means that it perceives it's own strength as being 70% of what it actually is. This forces the AI to consider taking more men to the battle, to make up for a perceived shortfall.
