    Default Changing games timescale

I do not want to advance two years every end turn. I kind of want to do four turns every year but that may be to long.

Any thoughts? Also, does this mess anything up in game?

Somewhere in your files you can change how much time passes per turn. I can't think of it off the top of my head at the moment, but it's bound to be in a thread somewhere around here.

Or someone more helpful than me could come along.

    Thank you.

However, I know how to change it that is not my question. I am just curious will it interfere with anything in game.. and what is a recommended scale for someone who doesnt want 2.00.

It doesn't really do much to the game, other than the age of your characters - so if you slow it down, you will have them a lot longer. Ie. if you make the game .5 years per turn, then all your characters will seemingly live 4 times longer than on 2 years per turn.

Personally, I prefer 1 year per turn - because it still gives you long enough to play pre-gunpowder, and when you eventually get gunpowder weapons it is a welcome change to the warfare style.

.5 years per turn is good if you want to avoid gunpowder altogether, i guess eventually you will get gundpowder but by then you will probably have won the game, or even taken over the whole world.

    Not really.

Characters get older 1 year per two turns no matter the time scale.
Also too wide time scale is boring. No mongols and timurids soon makes game way too easy once you beat your clostest rivals and establish a small empire.

On vanilla I prefer 1 turn per year, just because gunpowder event was too early in the game on 2TPY

Can someone remind me where I can change the time advance? Which file do I need to open? I did in the past, but didn't play for a long time and forgot where I have to look :-(

    Thanks.

    It's in descr_strat.txt, in the world/maps/campaign/imperial_campaign folder.
