Campaign Map Co-ordinates

I'm editing descr_strat.txt but I have no way to discern where I'm actually placing my units with the co-ordinate values. is there a guide as to where these co-ordinates correspond to?

Console command show_cursorstat is where they come from. Try it.

Hehe...um, do you mean an in-game console, type that in and it will show it? and if thats the case...how do you bring up the console?

Yes, the ingame console. It will give you the coordinates of where your mouse cursor is.
