Settlement upgrades

I can never remember at what population the various cities and castles can upgrade at. Can someone help?

Put the mouse pointer on the city's/castle's population and it will show you the population required for the next level.

Town 400 Wooden Palisade
Large Town 2,000 Wooden Wall
City 6,000 Stone Wall
Large City 12,000 Large Stone Wall
Huge City 24,000 Huge Stone Wall
Fortress 4,500 2 Stone Walls
Citadel 9,000 3 Stone Walls

Click the settlement details tab or settlements summary screen to see the populations.

regarding city/castle levels, I have a citadel and when I put the mouse pointer over the opulation it says: next level 18000
is this a bug ?

That's probably when the pop maxes out.

No, it's much more or until you have too much squalor and the population starts revolting.

Some mods change the numbers, IIRC (which is problematic at this stage of closely approaching senility). If'n you mouse over and get no number that means that you have reached the level of pop. needed to build a bigger wall. Once that is done then you shall be seein a number, maybe.
