    Default RTR first timer

OK, as expressed on another part of this forum I am a new user to the RTW series. Since I am new I have a few questions about the mod. Are the any "mini" mods (such as skins, unit types, flags ect) that can be used for or with RTR? If so, could any help me find where they are? I am reeading and reading...and reading....and am getting confused with everything that is out there for RTW and there is just sooooooo much. I wanted to focus on realism so that is why I wanted to try out RTR.
Also, what does Tft and FRRE stand for?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.

RTR is good enough on it's lonesome.

There is an Alexander mod that is currently in the works.

There are alot of minor mods. Check the downloads section, most of the mods will say that they are for RTR.

RTR, being a total conversion of the game, affects many files. Most of the minimods you see on the TWC are for RTW vanilla and change the same text files, making them incompatible with RTR. However, you'll find that some things are workable by making some minor changes to some text files. For example, adding a skin would require moving the skin to the correct folder and modifying the descr_model_battle.txt file so that the game refers to the right skin.

There are other minimods specifically made for RTR, though. Try the Mod Announcements and Mod Downloads sections of the RTR forums. I suggest you try out RTR without applying new mods first, though, to get an idea of what you think should be changed. Then you can start dabbling in minimods that take your interest
