Default How to stop these annoying brigands

Is there any way to stop these rebel armies from spawning in my territory? Once I played as Germania and they didn't stop appearing in the beginning, when I had to use all my troops to destroy them because barbarian factions are short of money, especially in the beginning (no bribes). To make things worse, Britannia was attacking Batavodurum and I really needed to pay attention to my armies there . Do Law and Public Order have any relation to rebel armies appearing in your territory? How can I partially (if not totally) prevent rebels from spawning in my territory and devastating my trade and my farms?
"Romans not only easily conquered those who fought by cutting, but mocked them too. For the cut, even delivered with force, frequently does not kill, when the vital parts are protected by equipment and bone. On the contrary, a point brought to bear is fatal at two inches; for it is necessary that whatever vital parts it penetrates, it is immersed. Next, when a cut is delivered, the right arm and flank are exposed. However, the point is delivered with the cover of the body and wounds the enemy before he sees it."

Try to find a mod that gets rid of them. I know that theres a mod that reduces the chance of captured cities rebelling against you, but I dont know if there is one that gets rid of the rebels that appear randomly. Check out the downloads section.

Watchtowers prevent them from spawing anywhere in the towers line of sight

so make sure your empire is coated with watchtowers and no more rebels.

Although I respect your input, I do have to disagree. I've built plenty of Watchtowers throughout my empire, and they still keep spawning.

Either bribe them and (if they join your faction) move them to a town than needs more population by disbanding them... or slaughter them where they stand. Those are the only real solutions to the "Rebel" problem.

I believe in the campaign folder there is a file in which you can change the number to affect the frequency of Rebels. The higher the number the lower the chance. 100 is a good value.

watchtowers DO prevent rebels from spawning in their line of sight, as long as its your territory. thats just a fact of the game. maybe you have a mod installed that changes it, but none the less, in vanilla rtw rebels cannot and will not spawn while in the view of a watchtower.
attacking them is a waste of money, manpower and time and bribing them wastes money
if you prevent the problem in the first place then more drastic measures aren't needed

One thing I noticed is that brigands spawn more frequently when you're playing a barbarian faction. It may not be significant, or it may be wrong, but when playing as Britannia, Germania or Gaul I observed that rebel armies spawned more frequently than when I was playing a roman faction. Just my thoughts... I don't make deep searches in the Data folder to know about the mechanics of the game.

THis is just a guess, but that may be because of all of the open terrain in Gaul and the British Isles. Theres so much more room to spawn, while in Rome theres only a couple of spots where they are far enough away from a city

I've just found the desc_strat file and set the spawning rate of brigands to 50. It worked wonderfuly, and now they only rarely (but still) spawn. I recommend this level to all players who really don't like brigands at all. But for players wanting more challenge I recommend a lower level.
