    Hi, I am intel and I am making small texture tweaks

    UPDATE 20.01.2011 PERGAMON ROYAL HYPASPIST, MACEDON HETAIROI & BODYGUARDS

    I disliked ugly brown cloth (and general brown tone) of this unit, so I decided to change colour of the cloth and linothorax armour. I know that this tweak is small, but it's my very first and my abilities are beyond such a painfully basic texture edit

    Extract .rar file to RS2 folder -->data/model_unit/textures/tone/macedon.





    It's fully save-game compatible.

    Next tweaks will be for certain Armenian units The moment I'll learn modelling I'll begin some major tweaks for Thureophoroi (namely: exchanging heads and faces for more detailed, hi-res ones).

    That would require some model and texture swapping, I'm afraid I won't be loved by you in nearest future If at some point I'll try to do this, they'll be entirely different, with more eastern look

    Can I use those units in my EB 1.2 ? They look realistic poorly armoured and colors of clothes armours etc looks native.

    If I'm not mistaken those are made by tone and are in RS2 currently, so you'd have to pm him.

    Thanks! I think I'll do a full armenian reskin. Right now I'm working on Armenian General. It's difficult, but rewarding work. Unfortunately, his 3D model could use some major improvements.

    hmm..im not sure if its a texture thing, but has anyone noticed that certain machairaphoroi epilektoi for some factions, like Pergamon, have their chainmail looking kinda....blah..compared to roman or some other machairaphoroi

    Total list of changes:
    -new scabbard texture.
    -minor improvements on the shield (change of colour, minor details on internal side)
    -new chainmal texture
    -new scales texture
    -new helmet texture
    -new cape texture
    -many other minor details

    textures are courtesy of tone, pacco and leif_erikson

    would you be willing to redo the Seleucid Theuruporai Armour and shield as well? They're aesthetically far more unapeeling then the original macedonian theuruporai... also, I don't know if you've seen Night Eye's Seleucid Unit Expansion Mod, but perhaps the two of you would be interested in working together, seeing as you are focusing on units in the same region of the world

    I thought it out, and your suggestion is really good. I'll talk to Night Eye, he seems to have some experience with simple 3D modelling/operations, that definetly would be a nice cooperation. Their linothorax armour is quite good I think, since it's actually a texture most phalangites in RS2 have.

    Well I find that the Seleucid Thueruporai look a little bland in comparison with the Macedonian and the Ptolemaic Thueruporai...as seen here.

    My main issue is the shield, which in shape and bolt design are fine, but the color combination simply doesn't agree with me. I was hoping for some sort of solid color with a design, anything really, even something along the lines of what the early Seleucid Thorokitai where supposed to look like...

    I was simply hoping that you could, like with the Macedonians, spruce up the Thueruporai. I'm one of those players that will, (even if it means my army may suffer) not recruit a unit because they do not appeal to me aesthetically. I'd honestly sooner recruit mercenaries or Judean Spearmen than Theuruporai early game, simply because they're look is lacking.

    Those are just my two cents, and I think that the design could be a whole range of things, such as purple background with a yellow design (such as a Persian Lion)

    please for the love of god (if you have time) touch these guys up?

    The Hypaspists just look....weird..the armor seems flat, too skin toned. Maybe a silver or something?

    and the Thorakitai Argyraspides...any way they can be made a bit more "regal" looking like the Seleucids? instead of say the bronze helmet, change it to silver?


    again, im no artist, just suggestions,i may give it a go myself

    I'll try my best Though I have little to no concept of how to improve richness of Argyraspides armour. I'll give them new scale texture, that's for sure.

    i think the argyraspides are pretty good as is, except for that bronze helmet (and i guess to have it match the armguards or greaves, whichever the other piece is), probably my biggest hangup is the chestplate of the Hypaspists

    Aspis, your suggestion for Argyraspides helmet was worth of a genius, I just realised that after playing a battle with them
