Question re: MIC

I'm not sure if this is a bug but I've captured a few provinces and built the type I government. (Romans) I expected this would allow me to raise Roman troops once completed but this has not been the case, even upgrading an existing MIC or demolishing it and rebuilding from scratch hasn't done the trick. I would have understood this if it was farther away from the Roman homeland, but this is still on the Italian peninsula. In the North of the peninsula, I can only raise barbarian troops and in the South, nothing at all. Is it a bug or have I overlooked something?

No,I've noticed the same thing in my campaign. It looks like the Roman recruitement system is still a bit messed up. Sure someone from EB can confirm this?

Furthermore I'm not even sure that the recruitement for gov-type II and III for the Romans work correctly. What type of units should they be able to build in those types?

Yeah, it does seem bugged but I'd like confirmation from an EB member before we deluge them with complaints.

bump... this is really bogging down my current campaign. Anyone know if it's a bug or not and whether there's a fix?

It has been mentioned often that Roman recruitment has odds and ends. It will be fixed and is still a work in a progress.

Thanks, so it really is a beta? Time to start a new campaign I guess. Unless of course someone has a handy edit-fix?

It's not just the Romans that get that problem, as Baktria I've built my level I homeland building in a bunch of conquered provinces and still can't train anything except levies.

With the Romans it seems worse because they can't build 'Vigiles' which I assume is their garrison unit.

You'll have to wait for the reforms to build Vigiles, sorry...

I see. What about other units? Will the Marian reforms allow me to recruit Roman troops? I've sort of gotten attached to some of my generals and am still hoping to finish this campaign...
