Very nice Xeres, have you ever considered doing Concept Art (if you don't already)? I really like the painterly feel to those.
I've more or less proclaimed defeat for the moment on getting the plume done for the Corinthian Helmet (seemed simple originally but it's giving me problems still *cries*). Instead I thought it might be cool to tackle a parasaurolophus:
Not really finished (the mysterious lack of eyes for instance) but I'm much too ADD to complete him. On to the next.
Just a little something I doodled onto the front of the script we're doing in my Drama class at the moment -- After Juliet, a sequel to Romeo and Juliet about the characters coping with the two lovers' deaths and the trial of those involved. Very good read. I play Benvolio, who you may recall is Romeo's best friend in the original and is in love with Rosaline, who loves Romeo before he leaves her for Juliet. This play focuses on that unrequited love between Benvolio and Rosaline, the election of a new Prince of Cats, the and the trial of the Apothecary.
Xeres, thats a very, very good picture. I love it. The raw passion on Ryu's face is intense, the positioning of the sun is also excellent. +rep
Is it alright to post painted models and such??
Or can it only be painted pictures?
Well, this is the art gallery. Painted models are just 3D art IMO.
I posted a photo of my wonderful model ship before. The one I built entirely from popsicle sticks, paint, and paper one day without any planning. It turned out pretty good, so I threw it in as a piece of art.
Hrmm ok. I may post a picture in a bit then, maybe get some opinions.![]()

Ok well this is something i painted today, its 9 x the scale.
So some things will probably look a bit rough, but considering its 9 x the normal size in the picture; its hard to notice these things if you're using your eyes and not a camera.
In real life, the model is just smaller than the model's head on screen in this picture.

hey cool magic, I have a ton of minis, reaching all the way back into the 1980s! I just haven't gotten around to paint them yet. But I definitely plan to!

The first thing that picture says to me is "Germans-in-Space"!![]()
Because it reminds me of a photo I saw of the son of an SS officer holding an StG 44.
My attempt at making a fool of myself, pretty rough still but shrug! Dont ask bout 3rd one it just sorta of turned into that on its own.

Hmm. Well, the rifle the boy's holding is kind-of based off the H&K G3, which was itself based off the StG-44, so eh...but, yes, the basic idea of the CGU is "Nazi Germany in space", with the notable difference being that they're ideologically pro-Human Rights and pro-Republic.
Made it from scratch for DSOTW on one of the gfx forums that im active at.
Latest sigs that i made.

Quick question: Is this for finished(ish) pieces or is it ok to post a WIP? I'd appreciate any feedback from our resident 3D junkies....
