    Default Low population growth

I just installed HHB mod for the KGCM and I noticed the level of population growth has been dramatically reduced. I have a 0.5 population growth to my castles since the game started, with some castles at 0% population growth. The AI seems to have this problem too, I'm at turn 89 and its starting to annoy me I'm sick of using weak units.

Please read this post and perhaps the entire thread. You can also use the search forum tool for additional ideas.

Juan to increase population you need a high chivalry governor/general in the settlement. Make sure to move him out 1 out of 4 turns or else he might get the lazy trait if left in there too long. High dread might work too, I dont think it does as well though.
Oh, for Heaven's sake, now you're being deliberately stupid.

Ugh thats not a good solution, when my empire is large I am out of governors to settle inside Castles or Cities, it kills the fun for me. My solution is uninstall HHB and installing KGCM 4.2 again, cause it didn't have that problem.

Are you aware that you can recruit generals(governors) in HHB?

    Then how about this:
Instead of uninstalling HHB, why not just modify the settlement_mechanics.xml file to your particular liking? Tsarsies has written an excellent tutorial on the subject.
And even if you don't wish to modify your file (odd since you're playing a mod) this tutorial will, at the very least, give you insight into population factors.

    A Guide to Settlement Mechanics.xml
This tutorial can serve as a good introduction to modding, as well.
    Hope this proves helpful.

Every time I venture from New Orleans,
I get the sensation of leaving Oz and landing on Kansas.

You want to know what? Really?? My political profile? Are you sure? Alright, then...

Thank you, I have never modded anything besides the Desc_strat file (if im correct on the spelling lol) but I will give this a try, I like KGCM 4.2 a lot because the population doesn't explode and it doesn't slow down to a crawl. I was on turn 80 and still had castles under 5000 population.

Yeah i made pop growth hard to achieve you actually have to have a plan to get growth rather than well just sit back and watch your empire grow Not for everyones taste oh by the way try modding the descr_regions.txt located here C:\Program Files (x86)\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\soul_grand_campaign_mod\data\world\maps\base.

This file is actually where the farming /growth levels come from the descr_settlement mechanics is positive and negative effects on top of this so you will get far bigger growths by modding the base file i suggested it isnt hard but there are alot of regions(199) and balance is a tricky matter sadly you cant use the file from straight KGCM either as well HHB has more regions and you game will crash if you try that
