    Default Helping KK - Team

    danthom and I have decided to start modeling on some city's (Bree Atm), I;m only a beginer but i thought if we can team up for working to help KK maybe some others can.. so im calling to you all to help assist KK in some of the less memorable citys in constructing them. we realy are less experinced in texturing and reaserch so anyone willing to help please, your welcome.

    need Texture editors/skiners and lore reasercher's despratly

    well for a starter as well now its where frodo meets aragorn and the humans dont obviosuly have hobbit visitors from there reactions,
    even merry & pippen are mysterious to the pint! :O. bree is a town with many vistors at a time but since arnor fell traveling goods, and gyspsy stoped using the town as a halfway mark between the lands. from any apperance iv seen on pictures or concepts all i can gather is its victorian based culture.

    hence why im looking for reaserchers/lore based people.

    No this is no preview thread at all, it is a thread which collects work done by the members and fans to help KK, pretty much the same what your threads tries to do - and there are actually many people viewing that thread
    I'd even say probably more than this thread

    If you actually want to put together a small dev team to work on settlements in a more concentrated way than MBA's thread wouldn't be suitable except for previews. You'd need your own social group or something where you can work and coordinate in which case this thread would be useful for recruitment.

    It was my impression that is what you were trying to do but I dunno.

    Well i think this thread will get about 1000 views will the other one has way more - hence he could get more attention and feedback/reply fromt here, but i leave it open to you whether you'd like to have it moved or merged with the other one or not

    Nice progress(es) you made here . However be carefull for gates, KK said in the IWTE manual that's better not to play with the original models (page 7 see attachment).
    I believe you can still use the model but it won't work as a normal gate. Maybe by modifying the housegate .
    EDIT: or/and retexturing an original gate, wooden gate 1 & 2 are quite close

    If a gate is made entirely from scratch would it then be okay? Or is it better to steer clear of gates altogether?

    If we could get the gate animated and have various destructible states, would it work?

    I don't even know if it would work in theory as I have no knowledge of animations. Only KK (IWTE manual), makanyane or wildog (IWTE makers) would know and that's not for sure . Nothing refrains you from trying. As I said retexturing the gate and modifying the gatehouse could be an easier way (havn't tested it though).
