Ever since I downloaded EB on the day it came out, I've been happily playing my Baktria campaign and having just too much fun. Well, unfortunately that fun seems to have come to a premature end about 10 minutes ago when, while I was just 2 cities away from achieving my victory conditions, I got a message saying the Seleucid Empire is victorious (which I assume means Rome since 1) Rome takes the Seleucid slot and 2) The Seleucids in my game have about 5 cities in their control).
The problem is that Rome expands so quickly, none of their neighboring factions can stop them. They blew through all the rebel provinces, then Epirus, and then the Sweboz incredibly quickly.
Since the AI-controlled Rome can't lose any battles or cities, I think their victory conditions sohuld be made more difficult. I was looking at the Seleucid's victory conditions - NO WAY are they going to meet those before Rome meets theirs. Capture 40-ish provinces and take out 4 factions, 1 of which is the most powerful in the game at the start! Some factions just can't meet their victory conditions before Rome will. To cope with their invincibility, I think the number of cities they need to take should be increased. Really, they won the game and they haven't even captured Gaul yet - both the Aedui AND the Arverni are still going strong. They haven't even beaten Carthage yet, in fact, they never even declared war on Carthage. It doesn't make sense to me that Rome can win the game without even killing off either of the two civilizations it's most famous for conquering.
Well that's my serious ranting request.
