Monastic Charters, Stronghold Rights, Market Rights
While doing some reading I had a thought, and I was curious about what you all would think of it:
We've got Market Rights and Stronghold Rights in SV:Chiv. 2 already, which contribute to the general realism of developing a city/stronghold within a feudal society, but what about Royal Charters with certain monastic orders?
There are already Catholic, Orthodox, and Muslim religious buildings for monastic communities; the invincible ones that have 1% to 2% conversion effects on the population of certain regions (forget the specific building names off the top of my head). Well, what if the conversion effects were dropped to 1%, but the buildings were pre-reqs for a "Monastic Charter" building that could provide increased religious conversion (1% or 2%), increased education-related character traits, and decreased local revenue (to simulate the tithe-giving of the local royal authority)?
Benedictine monasteries, Clunaic monasteries, Augustinian monasteries, etc. all received royal funding, were expanded by royal authorities at times, but were also shouldered-out at other times. By having the option to add-on to that monastic construction line, a Dark Age Roman Catholic player could campaign to convert the pagan regions more directly, as a Byzantine Orthodox player could campaign to reduce the impact of Muslim monastic conversion effects in Anatolia.
Please don't hesitate to correct me if I am wrong about the historical aspects: it was off the top of my head after all. Also: just felt like floating the idea, I'm not stumping to have it implemented for this next patch - especially since the game is pretty nicely balanced in this regard already, anyway.

Yes, I like this.... I was also considering a building to make cities part of the Royal Demense. All this will have to wait, for the follow up to 4.0 of course.
We will be pretty much set, unit-wise with 4.0, so I can consentrate on enhancing the feel/immersion of the game after it's released. This will be a great addition.
