Default Avoid Auzentech. Or possibly help me with soundcard issue.

I buy soundcards for most of my PC builds. In the past I wanted EAX or its competitor (dont remember what its called) but now they offer features like a headphone amp that make them incredibly useful. I have always had soundcards since Adlib and SB 16 era and this Auzentech card that I have on my current build is BY FAR the worst video card I have ever used.

At first I gave it a break because the company said that it was issues with Vista that they were going to fix, however they havn't fixed a thing. Heres a brief list of issues with this card, all fairly serious:

I can HEAR video. If the video card is doing anything in the background, scrolling a webpage, playing a flash animation, playing a game I can hear it if there is no sound. I often play certain games with no sound at all and just play music. Right now though i'm typing with my headset on with no sound and i hear the . Its incredibly annoying. Its not interference, i put in a EM shield (forget what its called, something cage... been years since science class) and it doesn't fix anything. However if I use XP, which I refuse to, it is fine.

Periodically the sound will go all robot on me. Meaning that at random sound will get incredibly staticy in a weird fashion that sounds almost robot. It will come in and out unless I restory sound to default then it is fine for a while, but when I do that on occasion my microphone will make me sound like mickey mouse high on crack or it will make my PS3/360 that is in the line in have the static issue where i have to restart to fix it.

Everyone who has this Auzentech X-FI Forte card has this issue, they promised to fix it, and its been since 2007 still not fix. My brothers X-Fi, my old card that i didn't use due to no headphone amp and its sole selling point EAX is useless now, runs fine on Vista/7. At this point I wish I would of bought one of those Asus XONAR cards. I only have 2 issues with this card, its sound is epically awesome especially in 5.1 but those 2 issues are extremely critical issues with this card.

Avoid this company like the plague, if you like the features that a soundcard offers get a real X-Fi or an Asus Xonar or something. I always liked creative cards due to the features, one reason why I bought this is that people said how awesome and featureful this card is, but this is complete garbage.\

edit: This is a common issue with this card that i've been looking for resolutions for since I got it, if anyone has a solution please feel free to post. Though i'm almost absolutely certain there is no fix and this is just junk garbage from an equally garbage company.

My auzentech forte is running perfectly fine, the only problems I have with it are caused by the Creative drivers it has to use. There is no way I'd recommend anyone get an actual Creative card over an Auzentech variant, no way.

And all your problems sound like driver problems too, did you upgrade to this card from something else?

No I did not, new build and recently reformatted as well with new drives from the site.

You using the drivers from the site? Tell me what build you have maybe that can help me.

I'm going to try to move the card around into the slot that used to be my 2nd card for crossfire since I just upgraded to a single video card.

Ensure you have disabled onboard sound in the bios, this can cause all sorts of strange problems.
