Default Where do I get started at?

I've found a lot of tutorials, but I've not really seen one where it tells me what to get to mod M2TWK, and I don't have any clue what the tutorials are talking about like "unpack"

Can someone give me a list of which tutorials I should examine first?

Sorry but can't help you, if you read a tuto on how unpacking the game ( the FIRST step of modding ) and don't understand it, then start something else.

Vista or 7, default folder, UAC enabled, look in the virtual store after unhiding all files and folders in Folder Options.

Are you using Vista or Win 7 and have the game installed in C:\program files (x86)?

Yes I do, sir! I also have it installed in C:\program files (x86)\Medieval
because I saw a topic where it says uninstall medieval 2 total war into another folder and then the patches would work, and, it did! DDD

    I also have windows 7

You should be able to find the files in C:\Users\(Your User Name)\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\SEGA\

If you can't find the AppData folder, it means you are hiding hidden folders. In order to view them, go to Control Panel, click on Appearance and Personalization. Under the second to last option, Folder Options, you will see blue text that says Show hidden files and folders. Click on it and a menu will pop up. Click on the radio button in the menu that says Show hidden files, folders, and drives. You should now be able to find your AppData folder.

There is no magic in that you create a txt file paste the command and then close by saving changes then you simply change the extension from .txt to .bat and you are set to go.

    Oooh okay, thanks!

Sorry I'm starting to encounter SO many problems D:

I am using a string bin converter and I did all the instructions said, then I used "convert all" and nothing happened in the files :O when I open up the file with notepad it looked like this:
    c a t h o l i c C a t h o l i c h e r e t i c H e r e t i c i s l a m I s l a m o r t h o d o x O r t h o d o x p a g a n P a g a n c a t h o l i c o r t h o d o x i s l a m p a g a n h e r e t i c

Is it supposed to look like that?

Oh yeah btw, when I tried playing Medieval 2 Total War (the original, not the expansions) I get an error saying Medieval 2 Total war has encountered an unspecified error
I want to play the original again but it keeps popping out that error
But there's no error when I play the expansions

You need python 2.6 installed to run the converter. Put the file sin the data\text and run convert_all.bat and they will convert.

I installed python 2.7 is that good?
If so, then there might be another problem cause I already installed python and ran the converter D:
