OK, apparently I need a step-by step, 'For Dummies', explination of installation.

I'm having trouble installing the mod, I'm trying to run it on the Steam Version, in Windows 7 64 bit.

I've installed 1.4, then the 1.01 sound patch, then the 1.4.1 patch, then the 1.4.1 translation.

I tried the Mod Installer application, but I get a thing about making sure I have privlages to make changes, and I ran it as administrator.

I didn't try editing the registry because I couldn't find a guide detailed enough for me to feel safe mucking around in my registry.

I tried what used to work with some mods and renamed the Call_of_Warhammer folder to teutonic and run it that way, it plays the CoW intro movie(which was cool), then takes me to the CoW menu with blank options and crashes if I try to get to the grand campaign.

What am I doing wrong?

Ok, there are two ways to do this:

1) The blank screen is not because you have translation installed and it isn't working, but it's your VirtualStore. Delete that and you should be good to go. (This is for the renaming to Teutonic method)

Not necessarily. There are a couple extra things that Windows 7 and Steam users have to do in order to get the game going. They follow the Official instructions, it's just that there are some steps that are left out that they have to do.

I'm pulling my hair out from stress after wrestling with this mod for the past six hours, trying to make it work. Menu pops up, no text, and if I try to just click my way through it, the game crashes. I deleted the VirtualStore file, and I can't figure out the registry thing worth a damn.. I'm really borderline giving up, the mod looks amazing but it's a to get working, xD.

I'm patiently waiting for an edition with an installer, like all the other mods I've tried.

Why is there no installer anyway? Is it to keep casual fans from playing? I'm not a casual fan, I'm an actual and hardcore fan, I'm just a bit slow. It seems like an odd and a rather cruel decision not to include an installer.

Also, do you have Steam? If so, then try renaming your "Call_of_Warhammer" folder to "teutonic" and then try seeing if it works.

Really? Is there the full updated version In english?

Tried the fix, still crashes.

Yeah, that's what I did. It runs now, but when I try to start a campaign it just crashes.

I 'Took Ownership' of the whole steam folder, and the Call of Warhammer folder after installation.
I've tried to run it from the warhammer batch file, from the main folder launcher, from the steam window, it all plays the intro and then goes to the start up screen with blank menu buttons.


And again, I need something more than 'This is what it will look like when you're done' pictures to go messing around with the registry editor.

Did both of you download and install the translation? Also, make sure you try the Menu Fix as that might help.

Yes, I installed the translation, that didn't work. Tried your menu fix. Didn't work.

Getting really frustrating since I can't seem to even figure out /why/ it's not working.

Possibly. You guys didn't just set the Sound installation to your "Call_of_Warhammer" folder, did you?

The first time I tried the installation I extracted it somewhere else and copied the files over. The second time I believe I did extract it. Trying a third time, this time I'll do without the sound and see if it works.

Yup. Blank menu even without the sound.

@Spacepup18 Well, the sound doesn't affect the menu. You have your UAC off and your VirtualStore deleted, correct?

@Both Try reinstalling (delete the entire "Call_of_Warhammer" folder) and install the menu fix and then see if the menu is still blank. If it isn't, then try the translation.

What's the UAC? I deleted Virtualstore.
