Can't install vanilla with gold

Hey everybody,
I got myself into terrible problems.
I couldn't find the uninstaller of med II, so I deleted all the files manually.
But now I want to reinstall the game.
When I put the disc in, everything is normal.
But when you need to select what kinddom expansions you want to install, I deselected them all.
When I press install now, the installation is done immediatly.
But poorly, MTW2 still wasn't installed.

So I decided to install only america's to see what happened.
Evrything installed fine, but ofcourse, I can't play america's to. (because it's not a stand-alone)
So I deleted america's manually.
The problem is: I can't delete the SEGA -folder. It says 'Can't delete the file because it is being used'
(not literarry, since the message appears in dutch, my language)

Can someboddy help me?

when I gave it annother shot, the installer said he couldn't find the installer language and stopped.

I found it on my own, but still thnx a lott!

for the people with the same problem
1:put the CD 1 in
2 quit if autorun
3 go to my comp
4: right click on your CD-driver
5: OPEN, not run
6: m2tw
7:disc 1
8: setup with the installshield logo (there are quite a few 'setup's' and it takes a long time before the installation starts, but just wait)

if you want to install kingdoms as well:
the same but with disc 2
(altough you will need to seperatly install all the expansions, it's worth the sweat)

Hi i had the same problem i did what you said and it installed medieval 2 but how do i install the expansions? when i try it says all medieval 2 total war gold products are already installed aborting installation.

Judging from your other thread this means you still have Registry keys left over from your accidental deletion of the game folders. It looks like irishron was able to help you get M2 working. Are you sure that you purged all of the old Registry keys when you were uninstalling M2 and Kingdoms the first time? Good luck!

You have registry keys left over. You will have to go through the uninstallshield folder and find the ones in there like I showed you in your other thread and run regedit. In there search for medieval.

Also what registry cleaner do you use i downlaoded a few and they all scanned said i had loads problems then said pay like £20 to clean it. Know any free ones?

Do you have all file and folders unhid in Folder Optiuons? It's a hidden folder.

You're closer. Now, it's time to open the setup.ini in each and if if it says Medieval and/or Kingdoms, delete it.
