    Default Cheating

    Hi!

Since by accident I bumped into and tried out some cheats it really annoys me - sometimes its hard to resist the temptation NOT to cheat in a specific situation( I know its lame but still - hey its a game). Is there any way to disable the cheat console permanently(idk - in scripts or sth)???

Apart from self-restraint, there is no way to turn off the console.

LOL! I am getting pwned right now in a late Byzantine campaign...I've been in the red for about 20+ turns and my army upkeep has gone from 20K per turn to less than 5K per turn...I don't remember if I attacked Siciliy of if they attacked me but fighting a war on the eastern front against the Turks and Sicily on thw western front is just way too much. Anyway, why am I ranting? Because BGR is the real cause of my difficulties...you're right, cheating can take the fun away, although when the Turks sacked my capital and it changed to Irkilon, not Athens, I was alll about giving myself 5K gold to pay for the switch.

The save button is the biggest temptation for me...

If there was an auto_win merchant I'd never be able to stop.
I see the better and approve; I follow the worse.

If you liked my post or thought I was helpful, hit that +rep and leave your name so I can keep an eye out for when you deserve some. Unless you suck. Then you aren't getting crap. Ever.

I am dead certain that there are commands for forcing agent actions...

Personally I just remove all of the enemy merchants skill or perform a rite of "death by nine in the box" if that really is necessary.

BGR is soo hard, I don't see how can I win this campaign..I was just at -500 and thought I was finally gonna go into the green and BAM -8K...my expenses are listed as 9K and my income is over 20K...and yet I still can't get into the green!

I think there is a bug like that. I've seen other people complain about the same thing.

Its probably not a bug... it really seems like that when you first start using BGR though. There are huge number of additional costs in BGR and sometimes they can come all at once. I've had budget holes over 30,000 when purchased an army of mercenaries and had several FM come of age and a marriage all in 1 turn.

Guess ur like me, just use some minor cheats, (not money cheat, thats out of question) use some like auto_win on some annoying 1-2 unit rebels that cause devastation somewhere you can't be bothered to send some units to deal with them (they sometimes spawn in places that are just damn annoying to get there fair and still win it)

Biggest temptation for me is move_character as it is very annoying to reach Crusade location in 5 turns but need 10 or more to return, or using BGR to have only Heir and King able to attack foreign lands but have the wrong family member become Heir on the opposite side of the kingdom from where he is needed... 10 turns of travel and he arrives old and sick. Not really tempted by the other cheats as everything else is able to be managed with mechanics of the game.

Those rebel scum I use the move_character "Captain Annoying" xxx,xxx
might try this auto win one :-) whats the console cheat for that one?

As well other cheats I use is FOW, and sometimes character_reset and moving characters such as there is a princess I want to marry into my family and she is too far away I'll move her or a general or other family member I move into my family but they are half way across the world I will teleport them back to my lands.

No cheat is tempting for me as there is no slippery slope. I use toggle_fow to plan a game, but then I restart to carry out the campaign, with the fog of war. The "temptation" of save is not a problem, I just use it constantly. It "weights up" against the loads of free cash given to the AI.

So you guys want a "disable console for single player" type of thing inside setup ?

yes!!!!! i can't resist the temptation to use the auto win cheat to destroy annoying rebel armies and taking over enemy cities. i am terrible at the latter and almost never fight sieges on the battle map. i don't trust the auto-resolve button w/o cheats because i find it terribly annoying to lose to an army i would have surely crushed on the battle map had i had the patience to do so, or suffer terrible losses that i would never have allowed. plus, i use toggle_fow so often that getting map information from the enemy is sort of pointless!
please, Gracul! please vanquish the evil temptation of the cheating console! the temptation is too much for us mere mortals!!

    Well you have 2 ways.
Either you can pop this into your campaign script -
    Code:
    disable_shortcuts object_manager show_console true
Or, you can use this file and copy it into SS6.3\preferences\

The first way isn't save compatible, the second one is.
