    Default Game runs in windowed mode

    I just installed 6.4 and when I start the game it is in windowed mode and hills roughly 2/3 of the computer screen yet there are no tabs such as the minimize, maximize and close buttons around the game screen that a true windowed mode game would have. For some reason the game screen just wont fill up the rest of the space of my monitor. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

    wargod 2009,

    Does your Windows Screen resolution match your SS Screen resolution, if it does not it needs too

    Yeah it still does not work. The game is still running in a cropped screen and I still see about a 1/3 of my desktop back ground while playing. Any other suggestions guys?

    increase the ingame resolution or deactivate windowed and autoborderless mode in the default.cfg

    I deactivate the windowed and autoborderless modes by changing them from "true" to "false" right? Also which of the following am I changing? autoBorderlessMode=true
    windowed=true
    borderless_window=true
    Thanks for anyhelp as this is the best mod for any Total War that I have ever played. (I have been playing SS since 6.1)

    After I changed the settings: autoBorderlessMode=true
    windowed=true
    borderless_window=true all to being false the game still runs in a borderless windowed mode. Any other help would be appreciated.

    I am also having this same problem.

    I would work on it a bit if I had time, but won't be able to for a while.

    Hopefully someone would have been able to figure it out for me by then, but if not I'll let you know if I find anything you haven't.

    EDIT:
    I fixed the issue simply by setting autoBorderlessMode and windowed to false as bane instructed already. I didn't mess with borderless_window. Hope it works out.

    Default Still can't figure out how to disable windowed mode please advise

    Hi everyone! The reason that I ask this question is that for some reason when I got to play 6.4 SS, the game runs in a borderless window mode and I can not seem to make it run the full size of my screen. If anyone has any recommendation on how to resolve this problem, then I would greatly appreciate it. However if no can give me a solution to fixing this problem, then perhaps there is a way that I can uninstall the 6.4 patch so that I can play 6.3 without having to uninstall and then re download a huge time consuming mod. Thanks for any assistance.

    No you cant uninstall 6.4 without reinstalling 6.3.

    Have you set your game resolution to be the same as your desktop resolution? If so, then remove the windowed=true and borderless_window=true from default.cfg in mods\SS6.3

    Probably you have Win7 and can't change stuff because of either UAC or VirtualStore.
    Try to find the game in here:
    C:\Users\YOURNAMEHERE\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Medieval 2\mods\SS6.3\default.cfg
    and "autoborderless=false" over there.

    Merged the topics.

    Maybe we should include the option "deactivate UAC" in the install?........

    Does deactivating windowed mode reduce battle lag? I believe I read that somewhere...

    Thanks

    Edit - My pc is pretty powerful, it didn't have problems running 6.2's battles, but it flips out completely on 6.3 and 6.4 battles

    Can't really say YES, can't say NO.
    If you have lag on the battlemap or on the stratmap, try to lower the resolution - this will most certainly help (as a side not if your game res is different then dekstop res then borderless window won't work.)
    Always set the same resolution for the battlemap and the stratmap.

    I had a problem. I put the file only in the "read-only". Right-click default.cfg (SS64.cfg) -> properties, click read-only
