@ Chris. It doesn't allow m to run as Admin. Also it wont let me save the file to any particular place. When I click on regular download (MegaUpload) it only say Open file (open with). or save. And it wont let me put it in my designated folder.

@ Chris. I believe actually that was the original problem. Back on my Acer I didn't activate my admin powers. How would I do that. its been a long time.

I don't know how to actiνate admin rights.
Just right click on the exe and run as admin.Or this is a Win7 thing only i'm not sure.
You can saνe all the parts in your hard disk and then put them in a file.

Ya I think I need to activate Admin rights. Thank you for your help. Once I figure how to activate admin rights it will be a breeze.

I am sorry to be bothering this thread, but I have no clue what to in regards to install stainless steel 6.4.
I downloaded all the 6.3 files from gamefront. Am I supposed to install the game, and if so how? It says it split in zip and I have no idea what that means. If someone could walk me through the install that would be great. I looked the FAQ as well as the thread, and I am still lost. Maybe an idiot's guide would be great. I hope someone can help me I really would love to play SS 6.4. Thanks.

    Scandinavian & Averroes19,

Guys, all the files you d/l from MegaUpload/Gamefront are BIN files(which there are five of) should be in the same folder as the Exe File(Application File). You can choose to left click with mouse or right click and 'Run as Admin'. You should instal to C:SEGA/MTW2/MODS/SS6.3, THIS SHOULD BE DEFAULT PATH. When you instal 6.3, fire up the game, see that it works. Then you install 6.4 as per what you did with 6.3, hope this helps.

Averroes 19, if you have zip files, you need to download 7zip, instal each file to the address above

Najavo, thank you for your reply. I tried running the installer for 6.3 and everything looked fine but then it asked me to insert disc 1 and disc 2, which is weird, because I have the Steam copy of the game. I do have also the actual physical copy as well, its at my parents. So, I hope that will solve the problem.

You don't need those discs, just take a look at this thread, it explains how you change the launcher to fire from a Steam based game:

Navajo Joe, thank you so much for your kind help!
I got the game running (and hopefully I am not jinxing myself-knocking three times on wood ***).
I set the game for early era and started a Kingdom of Aragon campaign. Boy, Stainless Steel is amazing.
Makes my already favorite total war game even so much better.
I would love to give you a +1 rep, post count is too low though.
    But thank you again!

Edit: I guess I am now able to give rep credits, which I just did!

Hi, I'm having some trouble getting 6.4 to work with my Steam version of M2TW. I followed the instructions for this link: ( http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...59#post7808159 ) and I'm still having some trouble. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

when they (by that i mean the developer(s) and beta guys) decide its bug free enough....or the wiki gets done if thats what's holding it up....i don't know anymore than that...but 6.4 isn't that old at all...and the submods keep it more than fresh

Hey, how do I change the 'additional scripts' and switch from Late Era Campaign to Early Era Campaign?

    Thanks.

EDIT: Never Mind, figured it out.

Only the 6.3 installer is needed for 6.4 correct? I deleted my 6.3 folder and reinstalled but now I can't get anything to work. Same computer as before but it says missing campaigns or files now when trying to launch...

I have 16.2 gb in my 6.3 folder which seems alot more than last time. I have UAC disabled which allowed normal install last time.

ur confusing me...for 6.3...u need the bin files adn then the ss6.3.exe file and install it. Then run the setup. Confirm it installed correct. Then patch to ss6.4.

Right... the 6.3 download has all the needed files or not is my question. I deleted the entire folder as originally I had installed 6.1- 6.2 and then 6.3 and 6.4.

To install 6.4 I only needed the most recent 6.3 download since this time I deleted all my older versions like 6.1 and 6.2- at least that is what I assumed.

yeah ss6.3 is a self involved mod. You can have both 6.1/6.2 and 6.3/6.4 as they install to seperate mod folders.

You can't have ss6.4 and ss6.3 w/o renaming one or the other, or switching out the files manually each time, i find two seperate installs work better, but thats just me...and i have a ton of free hdd space.

but yeah you assumed right +rep

    ======
oh i'd manually delete the folder, as the unistaller leaves stuff...could be ss6.4 files conflicting with the ss6.3, or just rename the current non working folder and try a fresh install, so like rename it ss6.3false and install a fresh one.

which download did you use? or did you have the files still lying around.
