I just started an Ottoman campaign and was declared war on by 6 countries in less then 2 months. Has this happened to anyone else?

for the 1399 campaign you start off at war with a whole bunch small nations to the east (and the timurds), other then that i've haven't had anything like what you describe, most of the surrounding nations are not very strong.

I first signed an alliance with the Mongols then the Timurid Empire declared war, Byzantine declared war, Naples declared war, Trebizond declared war, and the two city-states in south-eastern Turkey declared war on me.
huh, i thought you started at war with them. anyway, idk why but in my game when i annexed one of those small nations a truce fired with all the other nations. it was actually dissapointing because the other (ramazon?) got under the sphere of the mamlukes who were a huge pain until they collapsed.

ottomans had to fight much of europe and the middle east a the same time for much of their existence
get used to it.. and beat them back.. all the way to vienna!
I started a game once and 30thousand timurids crossed into my territory after a few years.
Sucked. Hard.
I still haven't had an even relatively successful campaign.
ok, i checked and in HttT 1339 campaign you do start out at war with the timuirds and three other small(er) nations to the east. it was probably just bad luck that the other two declared war on you. The real trick to dealing with the timurids is getting a peace with them quickly before they can attack you with numbers. then within two years they should fall apart due to rebelions. The ottoman campaign is challenging to me because although you start off with bosnia and serbia as vassles (or at least allies) and they will be loyal they are just useless since they are so small. Also, everyone surrounding you hates you, and most neighboring western factions get "attack the ottomans" as a mission or something similar.

Don't ever play the Ottomans from 1399, start at 1453. Much easier.
Lol I cant belive there are people who can fail with the Ottomans, anyone who is 10+ should be able to become Big Green Blob in the first 50 years of the game, its one of the easiest nations
Maybe make an AAR about the Ottos then instead of the piece of **** you're spewing all over paradox?

Yeah, I've got France, Hungary, Castille/Aragon/Portugal and Venice and all associated vassals on me and I still somehow managed to win. They have to travel quite a distance and you can just keep up a neverending wave. Just keep at it and then they'll tire. They always do. Its really fun and challenging when you have around 30-40 nations wanting to put your head on a spike.
EDIT: Add Ming, Sweden, England, Scotland, Muscovy and Novgorod to that. LOL And the entireity of the HRE. This is going to be interesting. Mehmed II has fought about 450 battles ffs. Maybe I should make an AAR. 'My lord, such crusades are now largely toothless'. -.-

Lol go for it! The sheer complexity of what you are up against right now is enough to make my head spin. I tend to always keep my eyes on the diplomatic standings with other nations. Because I like to make sure that if I'm France and the powerhouse of Castille declares war on me, Burgundy, Aragorn, Portugal and England won't have a good time demolishing me.
Ottomans are just very easy. You can take all anatolian beyliks without any infamy.Try getting an alliance with mamluks.Timurids will easily accept peace. You don't fight any big armies until you reach austria.
