Default Getting a Netbook with Linux

I am having difficulty finding a netbook with Linux on it on the internet. They used to be really popular but I can find any UK site that now sells netbooks with Linux on it.

Obviously I could get one with XP or windows 7 on it and install Ubuntu over it but I would prefer to save the money! Apart from local computer shops is there any way I could get a netbook without paying for a MS OS?

I need a new laptop because the case on my current Dell is falling apart and the charger is broken and I have been quoted £190 to replace both of them - which isnt worth it for a 2 and a half year old computer. Its not covered under my warranty as its classed as 'wear and tear'. I don't want to get another computer from them!

Its a shame that almost all the big companies have stopped selling linux netbooks, its a much faster, cheaper and secure choice!

Just buy the hardware and install the OS yourself?

    Or...
To be governed is to be watched, inspected, directed, numbered, regulated, enrolled, indoctrinated, controlled, checked, estimated, valued, censured, and commanded, by creatures who have neither the right, wisdom, nor virtue to do so. To be governed is to be at every operation, at every transaction noted, registered, taxed, measured, numbered, assessed, licensed, admonished, reformed, corrected, and punished. It is, under pretext of public utility, and in the name of the general interest, to be placed under contribution, drilled, fleeced, exploited, monopolized, extorted, and robbed; then, at the slightest resistance, to be repressed, fined, vilified, harassed, abused, disarmed, choked, imprisoned, judged, condemned, shot, deported, sacrificed, sold, and betrayed; and to crown all, mocked, ridiculed, derided, outraged, and dishonored. -Pierre-Joseph Proudhon
