Default Ranged units (archers & crossbows): 6.2 vs 6.3

I've been mostly playing SS v6.2 because I didn't like RR+AoR and having to wait 300 turns to recruit armored units. You can call it unrealistic, but I call it too realistic for me (No offense intended). Now I started playing v6.3 since NoWaiting mot got out and found out that archers and crossbows make much less damage than 6.2. Why is that? If I recall correctly, crossbowmen had around 13/14 damage in 6.2 and were armour piercing and now they have only 10. Same for longbowmen and some archers. Damage mostly decreased around 2-3 damage points, plus not even one ranged unit has armor piercing ability. Why was that changed and how does it reflect on the battlefield? Do ranged units make much less damage against a unit than 6.2? Or is it mostly the same? Thanks.

If they really do less damage I'm thinking about making a mini mod to slightly increase their damage and some archers having again the AP ability.

Cassius: "Our men at arms have secured the city. We've received representatives from all the best elements. The senate is with us, the knights are with us."
Brutus:"The pontifs, the urban cohorts, the lictors guild..."
Antony: "Oh, the lictors guild, very good. Only rally the bakers and the flute players and you can put on a festival."

6.3 follows the RC 1.8 value, which is a detailed guide that is really close to realism, they remove the AP for most ranged weapons because it was too devastating again heavy infantry, especially crossbow with 12 ATK.

You can change it yourself if you know how to play with EDU. Or, there is a thread that added the AP and other adjustment for ranged weapons, here's the link. http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...hlight=archers

Is RC included in 6.3 even if I disabled RR + BGR? Because I disabled them and have been messing up with edu and edb.

Yes, RC is the stats system of SS 6.3. The RR and BGR are separated, you decide if you want them or not.

Thanks. I'm thinking about adding about plus 1 damage for most units, and only on extreme cases 2 damage points. Gonna take a while
