loading game problem

ok so i downloaded 5.1 abut 3 weeks ago, worked fine, later i downloaded third age, works fine, a week later it comes up with this CA_LIBS error, so i unistalled SS and TATW, and reinstalled 5.0 SS, and it still has the same problemb

seroiusly.... theres no other option,???

ok but im currenty installing and then updating 5.0 to the patch 5.1 to see if it makes a diffrence, is it worth a try?

You've got nothing to lose, at least.
Haven't heard of that error before. You could try googling or searching the rest of the TWC forum.

i found a guy who had the same thing but with the orignal m2tw,
and he reinstalled and it worked!

ok so i reinstalled m2tw + kingdoms,
when i luanch m2tw its the same CA_LIBS error!!!
it says
''another instance of medieval 2 total war is running,the instance of medievla 2 will now exit

Open up Task Manager and kill the kingdoms.exe process, then try starting the game again.

Ok, I have done some research and I found this thread:

I am getting general impression that SS Bat File may be in a different place to the CFG.

Anyways have a look at this thread, I think it is going to help.

I would remove MTW2, defrag, Clean Up and a Registry Clean(CCleaner) and then install MTW2, Kingdoms and 1.05 patch

ok deleted everything to do with medieval 2 total war and reinstalling it....

UPDATE-installed medieval 2 total war-worked fine

, currently installing kingdoms

yes it works!!!!!!
just downloaded ss5.1 and third age and they work fine + rep to you both

I'm getting problem now too. Yesterday Kingdoms worked fine, last night I downloaded SS6.3 and now I can't run SS6.3, Kingdoms or Vanilla without getting this CA_LIBS "Medieval II has encountered a fatal error and will now exit" error. So a reinstall worked for you, does anyone have any ideas how I could get around this without having to do that? I'm using Steam and it's a slow install I'm not looking forward to.

I've seen and tried a couple of other 'fixes' in TWC but am not having much luck. I'm on Win 7 64-Bit, if that makes a difference.

Please look at Post 13 and attached link.

I also want you to DISABLE your UAC, then install 6.3/6.4 outside of Program Files, create yourself a folder, call it SluggerSS6.4, then install 6.4/6.4 to here. This is fine as long as MTW2 and Mod are in same HD
