    Default Quick Question About Bloodlines

I started as the Starks in the Alpha; and I married Roose Bolton to one of King Robb's daughters. Roose's children are bastards with the trait "Of Stark Relations" or something similar. If I marry those bastards to pure princesses (with the "Of Stark Blood" trait), can Roose's grandchildren have the trait "Of Stark Blood"? The goal of my scenario is to have a King [Something] Bolton on the throne with full Stark blood. Is it possible?

Also: the Alpha seems to have the options to upgrade and swap towns and castles removed. This makes the game almost boring, in my opinion. I'd really like the option to tear down Winterfell and make it a center of commerce since its so far from enemy lines.

That wasn't needed. People look at all posts here. Especially since there are not many.

Not sure how the bloodline works in the alpha version. In 1.0 the primary bloodlines will only be handed down through male members of the bloodline. Descendants through the female line will still have the "Of Stark Relations" bloodline but will not be able to pass down "Of Stark Blood". The only exception to this is the Martell faction who will pass the martell bloodline through male and female members of the house.

The ability to convert castles to cities and vice versa will not be included. The 12tpy timeframe in the 1.0 version would make doing so impractical.

Perhaps, in 1.0, conversion could takes 24 turns or so. At certain points of my campaign in the Alpha, I've gone more than 50 turns without revisiting a "secure" settlement.

It's just an idea, for those of us who might want to change the course of Westeros and not play the same old, tired adventure again and again. Especially considering Westeros' shape. Most factions are auto-defended from one or more sides (they are against some edge of the map), so war is a constant single-front (and in rare cases two-front) push without much need for tactical variance.

The reason "The Third Age" mod gets quickly tiring is because it strips a good percent of the tactics from the game. "The Third Age" is Medieval II: Total War without:

    - good naval battles
    - the ability to convert settlements
    - horse archers
    - good siege equipment
    - mercenaries
    - Crusades
    - religion in general

    ...and with:

    - bad AI
    - frustrating Trolls
    - perpetual, landlocked, back-and-forth skirmishes
    - the "Dwarish crawl" (the Dwarves almost always win in the end, except when Mordor wins)

I have higher hopes for Westeros 1.0, so please try not to simply remove a feature that is realistically possible.

since this thread is about bloodlines, will the choose faction heir script be added into this mod?

At this point we are choosing to use bloodlines to determine the faction heir. The primary bloodline of a house (ie Stark, Lannister) will always have preference over lesser bloodlines. If a primary house is eliminated the secondary houses all have different authority bonuses associated with their bloodline.

So I'll never be able to stack "Of Lannister Blood" with "Of Stark Blood" if I'm playing as the Martells?
