War lord, you vote for ONE consular candidate. Please post which one you actually intended to vote for.

But isn't their TWO Consuls?
Spurius Geminius Scaeva ([100]jplay.TGC)
you vote for one though. So the one with the most votes is the senior consul and the other one is the junior consul
edit: well, well, looks like good old Pallas is going to have his murder spree after all

Lock it down, both of you. There are a few reasons I put the people in my hands now.
1. I never use the people to do stupid things such as assault the senate house or pull stunts like a populist uprising (and the only instance where I have done it was to kill my old character when that incarnation was at no activity and somehow everyone jumped on that bandwagon). It's a cheap and often times game-breaking aspect of rampant ego trip that leaves a bad taste in everyone's mouths. I've been in two instances where people have tried this, and each time has resulted in either a reset of what happened or a total shutting down of YATS altogether. The first was when 10th decided to flaunt everyone and march on Rome. The second was when RVFVS decided to burn the senate house down. In both cases, the results were catastrophic for gameplay. The first one ended with nearly all the players leaving and YATS being forced to restart, and the second one basically destroyed all gameplay and sent this thing into Limbo.
2. This kind of bickering will only lead to further deterioration of the moral code that YATS has seen since its inception. If necessary, I will kill Pallas as a character and resign as a player and instead play the role of the people, and I WILL be heavily reinforcing the rules about RP'ing the mob
3. dragoon, please don't use harsh tones with new members. It's understandable that you are frustrated with them when they aren't doing things like you'd expect them to, but that's how life works. Give them time to get to know the ropes and they'll be just like any old veteran of YATs
4. Major, you're going to hate me for this, but the past even was precisely why I didn't want GSTK elements being introduced into YATS. The occurrences of events like the Curia burning, while great fun for the guy torching the place, is not fun at all for everyone else. And when moderators are forced to step in to regulate, it creates animosity amongst the players and ultimately devolves into the OOC incident that GSTK saw a few months ago. God help me, if YATS ever go down that path, I will have no problem with shutting it down for good.
5. Populist, populism, populares, call them what you will, but these forces did NOT come into effect during this particular time period of YATS. Soldiers were NOT landless citizens and the issue of large landowners swallowing up small shareholders didn't even start to occur until another 100 years. I know it's tempting to play the part of a rampant populist, but it is just plain wrong at this time period. We've had plenty of YATS were land reforms aren't the key point of our debates and guess what: IT WORKED FINE. We had just gone on assuming that the soldiers were constantly being disbanded and re-recruited each year because we couldn't simulate it in game.
6. Yes, it seems hypocritical of me to put the people in my hands. But it's for the greater good. Pallas will be dead in about a term or so, and everything will PROCEED AS NORMAL.
Play nice kids.

I've cleared out the inflammatory posts. Direct your anger at me and I would be happy to resolve it with you in a logical way.

I didn't mean it to be harsh, I was just stating that the gameplay of YATS sometimes isn't for everyone. I apologize for seeming so and for being such an *** lately when I'm aggravated, at the moment this is all I do in between tests and exams and endless boredom so my ticked off meter was on a hair-trigger.
Also, Pallas doesn't have to die in a term or so you know.
Alright guys, whose with me? New year, new resolutions. I think if we keep the debates to gameplay and policy, it would be a lot smoother. Shouldnt be bringing in the mob too often anyway, the Senators were all in their own little world at this point anyway. Lets keep it to campaigns, plotting to oust political rivals, make things difficult for them, expanding Rome...but not rebellion and riots! Thats no fun for RP and then everyone gets lost in whats going on![]()

I'd ask that you don't get rid of Pallas so soon if you'd indulge me. Personally I prefer a good rp to be drawn out over a time, what occurred this week could have worked if perhaps introduced slowly and steadily instead of occurring over a few hours.
You put a lot of work into the many variations of Pallas that I've seen and not one has ever bored me. It would be a shame to see your creativity stifled because of their ooc feelings, any issue I had would be taken up with the player in question or a moderator. I've got a lot of respect for your writing style and I feel you can do a lot with Pallas
Just my two cents if I might
so...a tie for the second Consul.......![]()

It's a tie for all three. Crozi voted for dragoon and TGC, and chose his vote for dragoon. All on 4 as is.
