Default Travel / undergoing military duties

I always thought it strange that the generals and royals were traveling the same speed with or accompanying an entire army or alone (with only his bodyguard). So I thought about how to resolve this.

I huge increased the: type character named
    ...
    starting_action_points 420

    and held: type general
    ...
    starting_action_points 140

within a settlement will work perfect the general can travel very far and the other troops have normal action points, but if I keep them on the field infantary, cavalry, artilery also travel farther ...

any idea how to monitor if a general shift the turn in the field and if is acompanied by other units add a trait on him ( undergoing military duties) to reduce his movement points or if alone the trait ( traveling alone ) keeping the huge movement points.
then whe he end a turn in a settlement remove this traits.

    You could do something like:

    Code:
    Trait ExtraMovementWhenAlone
        Characters named character
        Hidden

        Level Alone
            Description Alone_desc
            EffectsDescriotion Alone_effects_desc
            Threshold 1

            MovementPoints 50

    ;------------------------------------------
    Trigger CharacterMovingAlone
        WhenToTest CharacterSelected

        Condition AgentType = named character
               and PercentageUnitAttribute general_unit = 100
               and ExtraMovementWhenAlone = 0

        Affects ExtraMovementWhenAlone 1 Chance 100

    ;------------------------------------------
    Trigger CharacterMovingWithOthers
        WhenToTest CharacterSelected

        Condition AgentType = named character
               and PercentageUnitAttribute general_unit < 100
               and ExtraMovementWhenAlone = 1

        Affects ExtraMovementWhenAlone -1 Chance 100
The above is not quite what your after since any group of recruitable generals and/or family members travelling together will get the bonus. I didn't spot something to track army size on the campaign map. This will also require them to be separated from their unit and then reselected for it to kick in.

Maybe try 'and not IsGeneral' instead of 'PercentageUnitAttribute'.

Did you change the event? There's no way, that I know of at any rate, to select a dead character.

My experience: "PercentageUnitAttribute" will ALWAYS create an error message if it is used for the stratmap. (Remember Tajii?) - regardless if the trigger works perfectly or not.

To be honest no, I didn't come to that conclusion exactly, but you could be right. Look at my second to last post in that thread. I think there are around 3 events which export an army on the campaign map. Possibly they don't produce an error, but then they're pretty crappy events to use - eliminates a lot of ideas.

BTW Gigantus when the trigger works but reports an error does the PercentageUnitAttribute part of the trigger work?

    Yup. Trigger works perfectly.
It checks for the presence of particular unit (via EDU custom attribute) in the army and then gives a trait to the general (effect increased movement). Error message gets created every time the trigger fires.
