    Default Fabric of history

Becouse of advice about this delicate subject from one of the moderators,i mowed this subject here, with more facts.I was recently outraged when i heard someting, affter a discusion with my proffesor of history, but not by her,but becouse of the stance of some states to modify history. For example,in my country, there was durring WW2 a civil war betwen two sides-Partisans and Chetnics.Since Partisans won, there were a lot effort to demonise the loosers. They displayed them in culture and litteratura like they are nazi colaborators, slayer of the people etc...But,since the thruth is judged to get into the daylight,on surface rised some facts. For example, when Partisans knew that killing some german would activate a retaliation by them.In villages where most were Chetniks, partisans would shot some german, who is allmost lowest rank, knowing the price. There are also a lot of cases in here, particulary in history books of modern era, where nothing isn't changed. We still learn that Partisan were the perfect liberators, and Chetnik non human demon. There is also examplle in Turkey, where they dont learn(and also deni) the Armenian genocide during WW1,and also they learn that Ottoman empire was happy little comunity, where everyone had rights, and that some crazy countries rebbeled against them(i will take examplle of serbia, bulgaria, montenegro, grece, armenia etc...).Neither to say,in thouse books there is no mentions of they metods of torchure and interogating the people under they reign,i saw jannisary reference-but there it writh that thouse were volontary christian warriors in service of the Empire.Do you know more examplle of history modification and what is your oppinion and additude about it?

Well, history is written by the victor, as goes the custom. That has theoretically stopped now in favour of factual history, but Totalitarian governments are the main perpetrators of rewriting history. North Korea still does it today.
A new mobile phone tower went up in a town in the USA, and the local newspaper asked a number of people what they thought of it. Some said they noticed their cellphone reception was better. Some said they noticed the tower was affecting their health.

A local administrator was asked to comment. He nodded sagely, and said simply: "Wow. And think about how much more pronounced these effects will be once the tower is actually operational."

The victor has always and will always at least attempted to put it self in a positive light when writing history. This is going to happen regardless of the ideology of the people involved and must be kept in mind when studying history regardless of weather the events happened last century or last week.

Talibans attacking New York is one of my favourites..

Oh, and the Chetniks were collaborating with the Germans. Their biggest enemies were: "the partisans, the Ustasha, the Muslims, the Croats and last the Germans and Italians" in that order.

Both sides colaborated with them, but there is negation of fact that partisans also colaborated with them.
There is also nice edition on wikipediahttp://hr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bitka_na_Kosovu_polju,on croatian. The battle of Kosovo in 1389,as it's writen there, was also with croatian squads. But, my proffesor of history(croatian also),complletly denies that fact, becouse she specialised in that area, and before the fall of Yugoslavia, there were sources that say who was on which sides. It's directly writen that there were Serbian with Bosnian,Vlach and Albanian squads, but not with croatian
