    Default GrimMod

    GrimMod - A Barbarian Invasion Enhancement Pack by GrimSta

    The aim of GrimMod is to provide a more enjoyable experiance for the player, to do this we are including a number of mods made by other people (Mydraals 4 turns a year script and Archer's De-Saturised Sassanids leap to mind early on) however the majority of the work will be done by Myself.

    Like we said earlier on the main aim of GrimMod Is to make it fun to play BI again, without making download sizes huge, which is why we decided early on to limit ourselves to two new factions, who were handilly made by CA for us...the Moors - who will be replacing the Eastern Empire Rebels and the White Huns who will be replacing the Roxolani.....yes, We know they wernt around but the Eastern Empire was very stable at the time and frankly if I see one more blue chick riding a horse I would probably screem....

    The list of major changes we intend to make is below!!

    The Moors will be operating in the same way as the Eastern Empire Rebels, except they will only emerge when the Berbers have a rebellion, and the same goes for the Huns...imagine a horde of White Huns appearing out of the Hunnic Homeland, not a pretty sight....

    The Half recruitment and Upkeep costs along with the 0 turn recruitment and no peasants means that the computer will build lots of very large, very challanging armies. Hordes are less of a problem now, but they still should be feared!

    Thanks go to Meqon-Nerd for actually making the framework for this, and Fable234 for teaching me how to add and rename factions, cheers lads!

    1: No Peasants
    2: Half Recruitment Cost
    3: Half Upkeep Costs
    4: 0 Turn Recruitment
    5: 4 Turns a Year
    6: Removes Roxolani and Eastern Empire Rebels
    7: Adds in two new Emergent Factions: White Huns and Moors
    8: Larger Map
    9: Zone of Recruitment System
    10: Slavs arrive Earlier
    11: Romano-British Available from start +balancing their units
    12: Computer Controlled (AI) Generals now have a large chance of recieving 10 Command Stars
    13: Scripts to generate Random enemy armies, and also Spawn full stack enemy armies on the capturing of a Factions Capitol
    14: Hordes double the size - Real Devastation now
    We do have text editors and a scripter in the making working for us and i will be touchihng up the Moor and White Hun skins made by CA

    Dont be fooled by the fact I only have one screenshot - I dont have the full campaign map up and running yet, but its on the way.

    If you want to try a very early beta version then you can get it here but it isnt that great atm....there are gonna be bigger things happening.

    Would PlayerOne's bugfixer work with this? If not, could you make it work. It's great because it fixes so many of the traits/ancillary problems. Plus some other stuff. Thanks.

    Grimsta you should change the huns armor. its not very accurate as vanilla and is to streamlined

    Woot! im in credits also i mgiht be ethier making a map or porting a good map (once i get perrmission from creators of the map) to BI.

    The "white huns"(aka the Hephalites) are a Turkic poeple arent they? Or are they Indo-european mixed with mongel? OOOR they could be mixed between Turks Mongels and Indo-eurotrash. I simply do not know.

    Yeah, i couldnt really care about the White Huns it was just because i hated the sight of the Roxolani

    @ The Celt:

    If you could create a bug free version of you massive map I would love to include it!! Really, the only reason im not using yours now is cos i dont have attilas mod installed

    Its okey now Grim ive updated the descr_strat.txt it so they arent in the map anymore. Ive also taken Ireland from the Celts as in reality Picts and Irish would have never worked together. I'll see about adding Scotland as the Second Celtic province to make up the loss so you may hear from me agian soon!

    I'm liking the idea of the mod will be so refreshing to play BI other than using Attilas mod, Maybe you should also create Traits so that the AI will b able to have 10 star generals so there are really challenging armies, A huge army without a general is easily broken. I just want a challenge from the AI, which for me makes the game fun and I want something for BI that will make it challenging, apart from being the romans, I hate economies, I just want the AI to be able to crush you

    snazzy idea Dr Fox.
    I have to say that the most fun faction to play as in this is the Celts, as they not only have to face the mighty western roman empire, but when the RB come you basically have to destroy your economy to fight them off and rebuild from scratch once you have conquerd Britain.
    Saxons are also good as once you beat the locals you have to worry about the Vandals. again you destroy your economy to keep them away, but its a harder hit because you can be attacked by anyone - not just naval factions.
    Perhaps, seeing as you are a scripter - you could write me a little background script that spawns Armies for the AI randomly....

    Well I'll release a version with Lusteds Late Romans (thats a certainty) But i would like to evenutually get round to doing all of the stuff myself. So in the first few versions there will be skin packs, but there is going to be the GrimSta's egotistical version with all my own skins in it

    Nice, you got the map working! BTW Grim, make sure the WH start out east of the Caspian sea and there victory conditions should be to ravage the Sassanids as they did in History. :wink:
