Why no heavy sword units for Carthage?

(just something that has been bugging me)

LT just wondering why there are no heavy sword infantry in SPQR for Carthage, the only reason i can think of, is that it would tip the balance in favour of Carthage? is this right? just seems strange as they did have heavy infantry to rival roman units.

I think it is because they just didn't really exist. Most of their swordsmen came from gaul and Iberia and none were particularly heavily armoured.

No, because Carthage did not have heavy infantry. The heavy infantry they possed was Sacred Band, and the thing that gave them the advantage in battle was not their infantry, but their cavalry, which if used properly, can destroy a roman army.
