Default Why are my comp controlled army not attacking?

So im attacking Jerusalem with 3 armies, one of them is controlled by me, the other 2 by my comp (they are marked as blue) I destroyed 1 gate in which I attacked from, my troops were inside fighting while my allies were idle outside. I usd some units to open the gates for them, but they didnt march forward, i clicked on them to go inside but they would only march forward to a certain point outside the wall before stopping. This is very frustratng as I lost all the units controlled by me, while the enemy has handfuls of soldiers inside the city. So now I cant attack them as ther are inside. What do you do in this situation? It seems its a restricted movement type of thing, in which they cant advance further then a certain point. Is this a glitch or something normal? and how can I fix this?

I have also had this problem (with spies opening the gates also). Try moving the AI army over to the gate that you assaulted and opened. Then see if they will go through. IIRC that works.

if your armies are controled by a genral/family member, in the up-right corner you should see some icons, wich contain some settings: the defensive stances or the agressive stances...select the sword [agressive stance] and they should attack....if the armies are not controled by a general/family meber, you should personally comand them after you loose your original army....
