I, along with most others that are following the mod, greatly appreciate the work and effort being put into it. The team has been very accommodating to all of us here, and do a fine job.


However, with all respect due of course, I cannot help but feel that we are being taken for granted. By that I mean, we have heard little to nothing important from the team in what feels like quite a while since the release of 4.5. I, along with many others, have been patiently waiting for the new Startpos. While I completely understand that it takes time, I feel that the team is expecting us to still be waiting when they finally roll out the read carpet. The fact is that we follow it because we believe that you gentlemen can do a great job making this mod and we believe that it will not be abandoned.

However I once again stretch this point: If we hear nothing from the team that is of any significance, let alone anything significant from Mitch, could we really be expected to still be waiting when the time finally comes?

In short, I feel that the team should at least tell us more and give us more status updates, if not only as a courtesy.

Directing a statement like "I cannot help but feel that we are being taken for granted", towards a team who is spending a large amount of their free time to make a free mod, is unacceptable.

Any courtesy due is entirely yours.

It is common knowledge that my work is with the new Startpos. That will be released when it is finished.
Some of the team is doing work that we don't want to spoil until it's at a more ready stage.
Others are trying to fix the large amount of CTD's.

I'm pretty sure there is a Preview and Update thread which is updated quite frequently by PvtGunny with a team status section and various other info.

If you feel you'd like us to post more updates, in future cut the BS like you are being taken for granted and merely state you would prefer more updates from the team.

Mitch if you dont wanna do it no one is forcing you. Sometimes you modders are really over your head. I mean, ok, TGW is an excellent mod for NTW, but thats all, you didnt solve of the middle eastern problem, you just made a mod for a computer game.

To be fair, you're under no obligation as a fan, just like we are under no obligation, as unpayed modders. I would go further into this, but really it suffices to say you can leave if you feel progress is too slow for your liking. Progress is progress and will happen as time and will allows. Its easy to sit there and complain but really, its a ****load of work, not even all of it modding.

We will update our status once we are ready to divulge information and if we feel that it is noteworthy. Until then, you're free to help make the mod and gain access for yourself.

I'm afraid you guys are taking great offense to this, when none was intended. I simply was saying that I think we would all appreciate some more status reports, and explaining why. There's no need to grow angry with me, as I had nothing but good intentions.

I think its worth saying in defense of bornog and other fans that feel the same that they only ask things like this out of love for our mod and an almost addict like itch for more content and updates, but having said that it is also a risk we take as a team that the longer we take to get new content out the less likely there will be people left who really want to play it

But just to let everyone know there is work being done (and a big surprise on my part) for the dedicated fans we still have and the new fans that will undoubtedly come

Tanks are along way off unfortunately, any info on what may be coming in v5.0 other than all the currently confirmed items are strictly classified for now though

not really, just look at RS2. It took them years to finish everything for it, and release it, but when release happened there were more people in the RS2 forum at the time then any other sub forum.

Well, I would only like to fall in line with what others have stated. While I definitely feel that the fans and players of the mod deserve to be treated well and with respect, we are modders, not game developers, and as such we do simply not have the same time to dedicate to what most would call a hobby. Educational matters play a huge part in my available time, among others.

Fan is short for "Fanatic". As such you can't call yourself a fan if you feel like "being taken for granted" XD
Fans are those who are loyal enough to wait years for even a release (like some of us do for Tsardoms), and worship the ground of the people who do their unpaying job with perfection, in this case the modders :p

Anyway, me and the OP's poster had a PM chat a while back and he expressed how he didn't mean to offend anyone. He's a nice guy and I'm glad he's a fan of the mod.
