    Default Successor Army tips?

So using a phalanx against the romans, or machairaphoroi legions against them, works well. the cavalry takes the stage. Except with my macedonian expansion, ive hit a snag....

DACIA is biiiiiig, scythia is strong, and Rome is finishing off the west..scythia is overrunning my borders, such as my line of forts on the frontier.

does anyone have any tips on using a hellenic army against heavy HA armies? (not seleucids, since they get access to plenty of HAs)

Mercenary horse archers. Honestly, unless you put your machairophoi in testudo formation and wait the wave of arrows out, you don't have a chance at taking down horse archers unless you have horse archers.

Actually foot archers and slingers can deal with HAs just fine. They have more range, ammo and men than HAs and most of the time will win shooting contests with them.

My experience with RTW and mods in general is that middle quality infantry generally outclasses cavalry archers in autoresolved battles. It's like they forget to bring arrows to those and have to charge to their doom.

You will find the answer in my question.
Does cavalry has any advandage when it is trying to cross a river crossing or a bridge?
Defend in a side of yours and expand in another that opponets are more suitable to your armies.
TGC in order to continue its development seak one or more desicated scripters to put our campaign scripts mess to an order plus to create new events and create the finall missing factions recruitment system. In return TGC will give permision to those that will help to use its material stepe by step. The result will be a fully released TGC plus many mods that will benefit TGC's material.
Despite the mod is dead does not mean that anyone can use its material

I'd recruit as many HA's as you can and mix those with your foot archers, heavy cav units and 2-3 heavy inf - its the vest way to beat a heavily HA based army and worked a treat against the Parthian's in my current Selecuids camp.

I've been doing some tests with the Std Roman Pre-marian legion (10 chorts inc. 1st Chort, 2 x preatorian cav, 1 x general, 2 archers, 5 auxilary units - all silver armour + 2-3 chevrons) vs my various Selecuid's armies to see how well they do and what combo works against them. The heavy infantry armies take a bit of a beating but the most effective and deadly army has been the HA based one that I used against the Parthians ... the same tactics applied against the legions works a treat.

Hi, I have installed RSII, but when I try to start a battle, the game goes down, anyone can help me?
However, I have seen a bit the game and is fantastic, thanks.

6-8 foot archers, 4-6 horse archers, 6 spearmen, 2 heavy cavs. That was my armenian army that decimated all sarmatian cavalry hordes.
