    Default 240 Men

How can I get 240 men for all standard units?
On top of that, I don't want to worry about giving i.e. Elephants, Generals, Berserkers, Wardogs 240 units.

Look for this line in data\export_descr_units.txt

    soldier barb_infantry_merc, 60, 0, 1.2

The # 60 is the amount of soldiers at small unit settings, just change all the infantry units you want to that number.

    Small x 1 = 60

    Medium x 2 = 120

    Large x 3 = 180

    Huge x 4 = 240

yup or change the line in the preferences folder from UNIT_SIZE:160 to UNIT_SIZE:240 however this would also increase all the other unit sizes as well and I am not sure whether this works but would not take long to find out, just see if there is a CTD

So if it's set to 60 in game it will be 240?
Does the game crash if you try to go over 240?

    Dark_RTW,

I'm not sure, it may just not register and default to the maximum # . You can have 242 soldiers if you have the officer and standard bearer. I've never played with the # in preferences so I can't say either way about what effect it has. I always thought that was just a reflection of the settings you pick in the options menu in-game. I think 120 is just the default unit size in the options menu.

You have to pick advanced settings in the options menu to set it higher. Sorry if you already know that it's just the only thing I can think 120 means in the preferences file.

i can put 240 in preferences and have it work just fine
The beauty of the Second Amendment is that it will not be used until they try and take it away.

I change the line for all soldiers I wanted to give 240 men like so :
    soldier barb_peltast_german, 60, 0, 0.9

It has no effect! Still 120?

I had to set 240 in the preferences.txt file for the changes in the file to take effect. Thanks for the help.

Before I edited the text file I set it to 240 and I only got the huge unit size.

Really all you need is to set it to huge in the advanced video option menu in-game and any unit that has 60 listed as # of soldiers will be 240 when you play.
