Does marrying your charming princess to an other faction's heir serve any purpose besides granting that faction a very cunning wife?
I'm talking about inheritance, here. Or at least trying.

I'm pretty sure it just creates a stronger bond between your two countries. (If you marry him through diplomacy). If you try to charm him and succeed, he gets added to yuor family tree but you don't get to use him, he just remains in his own country.
You get a super alliance!
However, I normally hunt down the other faction's princess and get them to marry my leader or heir, considering getting a charming wife is a much better deal than losing a valuable agent. After I'm done using a princess for diplomacy, I either use her to marry a low loyalty but otherwise awesome general, or to steal another faction's general.
Jon had taken Donal and Benjen’s advice to heart: Sam may be fat and pathetic, but he is still a member of the watch, and one of the few black brothers who isn't a rapist or thief. (out of context, this sounds ridiculously racist)

Înfrânt nu eşti atunci când sângeri,
nici ochii când în lacrimi ţi-s.
Adevăratele înfrângeri,
sunt renunţările la vis.
So the creators of M2 frown on incest.

The game doesn't properly apply the inbred trait. It randomly gives any children a 1% chance to have the trait, even if you have been marrying off first cousins for generations.
Still, though, it's usually not a good idea due to the age difference between nephews and aunts. The woman could end up dying before she pumped out 4 youngins.

coming back to the topic, princesses are a lot more usefull than diplomats, but does anyone know if they can charm rebel generals? I'm thinking of El Cid...

The prince must be a fox... to recognize the traps and a lion to frighten the wolves
No they can't. It's bribery or nothing.
El Cid however is a tantalizing smoke and mirror trick pulled on us. Nevermind the fact he wants all the gold in Iberia, plus some, but he's so old that he'll die off in a couple of turns if you do get him.
Oh, and here's a post you may find helpful if you really, really want El Cid (or others).

If you liked my post or thought I was helpful, hit that +rep and leave your name so I can keep an eye out for when you deserve some. Unless you suck. Then you aren't getting crap. Ever.
For the people living in the M2TW world, incest isn't wrong, since the same inbreeding trait may also appear in children whose parents aren't related in the previous few centuries. Well, unless you explain it as the wife has been cheating on her husband with one of her male relatives and didn't get caught.
You can ignore the Council of Nobles if you have a better suitor in mind for your daughter.
I remember when I was Milan I was at war with everyone yet France was allies with everyone. I was going around with a diplomat trying to get peace with people when I saw that I could offer to have a royal marriage with France. So after deciding what the heck I'll give it a go, and basically bribed the French with 50k to have a royal marriage. What happened surprised me greatly and everyone who was allied with the French and was at war with me, was now not at war with me
