    Default Taking Screenshots

I'm having issues using Howies Quick Screen Capture to take screenshots of game. When I take the pic, it just gives me the background of pc, and another black box saying Roma Surrectum II Launcher (Not Responding). I used to use this all the time in previous versions of RS with no problems, but that was on a pc with xp, now I have Windows 7.
Does anyone use this and have any thoughts? I just can't figure out why it won't work, have tried running as admin, changing settings, etc...
Are there any other free programs that people like that are similiar?

p.s. Mods feel free to move to tech thread if you think its outta place here, doesn't involve RS II prob, so thought I'd put it here for now.

you do need nothing else than to press print screen and a screenshot will be saved in the tgas folder located in the RTW data folder

Only thing you need is a free photprogram like photofiltre to open the tga shot and save it as jpeg then...

I was using FRAPS, then someone on the Bethesda forum suggested switching to Howies Quick Screen Capture as a free way to save in a non-bmp format.

I tried it and liked it. My OS is Windows XP and it works for every game I play: Oblivion, Empire, and so on ... EXCEPT RSII. I have a similar problem. I take the shot and the program will make the snapshot noise, but when I look at the image, it will just have the background, not the units or the elements of the campaign map.

I went back to using FRAPS for RSII, which kind of sucks since all I actually like the way HQSC works better. Not sure why it doesn't work with RSII ... great program, though ...

We can use the freeware Xfire to make screenshots in RSII.
It is also possible to make videos.

To activate the mod RSII, enter the command line options in Xfire.
The software runs on XP, Vista and W7

Thanks for replies, using fraps atm, then converting to jpeg format using adobe photoshop...really liked the simplicity of howies though

Speak on! I had to tell my xfire that the Alx exe for the mod was the real alex, so when i play RSII and use the alex exe the xfire recognises it as alex and works, sort of (the ui is a bit )
