    Default N:TW lagging

I recently thought of re-playing N:TW, last time I played it was during the launch time and back then I could play fine almost maxed out. Now when I try, it is skippy on the campaign map and lags badly on the battle map. Even at "High" settings I got a very screwy gameplay. Back then I could play mostly at Ultra fine without problems, my specs are :
    C2Q Q9550 2.83Ghz @ 3.73Ghz
    4GB DDR2 RAM
    HD5850 1GB GPU
    1680 x 1050 is my resolution
Duffers better renderer's mod(Same case without this)
NER mod(Same case without this mod)
CCC 10.12(I'm thinking of giving 10.6 a shot, any suggestions?)

I saw the sticky and disabled my second audio driver(ATi's) and had a bit of improvement but its still very laggy.

LMFAO. Switched to 10.6 instead of 10.12(CCC) and I had so much FPS that the bloody monitor flickered and I had to turn on vsync....The campaign map is still skipping though, any ideas why?

EDIT : Just for reference, I'm running at everything max, 8x AA, 16xAF every checkbox checked and everything at Ultra.

Try 10.5 drivers, delete the preferences_script, set your settings back to default and push them up one at a time.

In the meantime, peruse this. http://blogs.sega.com/totalwar/2009/...-shop/#more-83

Finally got it sorted! Apparently the drivers were the problem, 10.5 gave me the best result(Thanks for the suggestion). I played a few turns on campaign map and a battle of Waterloo under Napoleon's Battle, it was smooth(mostly, it got a bit choppy during very intense moments but was smooth overall). My settings are AA : None, AF : X4, All to ultra, campaign unit multiplier 2, all checkboxes ticked except VSync. Thanks!

After that i need to say this Ati graphic cards is crap for gaming, you always need to rollback drivers or waiting for hotfix

    Nvidia is best

This is the first time ATi has given me trouble in over 3 years. So no, I'm good with Ati for now. I do got a 9800GTX+ in my sister's PC though.
