These &%#@!! ATI drivers!

Ok, I am gobsmacked. I seem not to be able to use any recent release of ATI drivers powering my two Balck Edition XfX 5970s to work in NTW. 10.12, when I fire up a land battle (note the emphasis on LAND), instead renders sea where land should be (WTF!!!). When I used them in ETW, I couldn't get them to work: flickering and flashing that crashed the game to desktop. I read the forums and switched back to 10.5, which seems to be ok - although I still have invisible soldiers half the time when I zoom out. I further understand that 10.5 is the last stable version of drivers for NTW. Amazing! I have filled out a survey form for AMD to express my disgust. Why on earth can't the developers and driver people get their %$#@!! in one sock and produce drivers that work with mainstream games?? It is not as if NTW and the Creative Assembly are niche, tiny concerns. I suppose it is good that I can get a driver set to finally work with NTW; bad that I cannot use the latest drivers for my other applications on the computer and that I should be stuck with an old driver set.
