    Default Additional Rules

Hello all. It has been a while since I have posted here but I hope to be back.

I have heard many people complain about the simplicity or the easiness of this mod. To solve this and to add more accuracy (to this already great mod) I deseigned these rules to use with myself. I have chosen to share them and see what others think, enjoy!
    1. Unit Divisions
    All units are divided into:
Companies => Division => Unit Type
    e.x. 1st Company 1st Division 1st Conscripts
    Division Types
Command: May consist of 5 or less Rifles, 3 or less Artillery, 10 or less Conscripts, this is where the rest of the units receive orders from, must always be in a city or town to keep command lines
Basic Division: May consist of 10 or less Rifles, 5 or less Artillery, 15 or less Conscripts, this is the backbone of your army who makes makes attacks and such
Auxiliary: May Consist of small amounts (no more then 5) of snipers and infiltration units

    Command/Supply Lines
Command and supply were vital in WWI. To represent this, I require divisions of a lower rank to be within moving range of the higher ranking division.
    Command => Basic => Auxiliary
If a division is out of command for one turn it cannot move, for every turn after that, it uses 1 unit to a lack of supplies.

Thank you for your time, I think thats about it, any questions please post here. I hope you all enjoy.

This is very interesting, but I would like to clarify some things. Are you planning this as a submod? Are you still allowed general's staff units in your armies? Are cavalry a "basic" division? What is the maximum amount of cavalry units can you have in a division? Answers would be much appreciated, as this looks like it could add an interesting level of strategy into the game.

P.S. I may have read the post wrong, but I'm pretty sure a company is much smaller than a division.

They are. But nice ideas on the OP, role-playing is always nice. And a lot of people make excel files to keep track of their armies.

Brother, thank you for your interest. First of all, I do not currently plan on making a sub-mod. None the less, if you want me to post the remaining rules I gladly will, but since you asked:
Cavalry is used in all three division types.
    Command: 2 or less
    Basic: 5 or less
    Aux.:1
Oh, and if anyone would be willing to read i, I can post a small summary of my gameplay to further explain the rules (and for some fun of course)

    Two options:

    1) Press Print Scr on your keyboard, then go to paint, and press Ctrl V. I have not done that in a while, frankly because its very tedious and time consuming, and I would not recommend it.

    2) Download FRAPS, here's the link http://www.fraps.com/download.php

FRAPS is a very useful tool that you can use to download multiple screenshots while playing, and they will save to a designated folder. From there, upload the screenies to a photo uploading site, (I use photobucket) and then copy and paste the URL into your post by using the "Insert Image" option when you go to post. Its one of the little icons on the top of the text area.

And remember to put your screenies in Spoilers

    Germany 1914

At the onset of the 1900’s tension reached a breaking point in the civilized world. In Europe, imperialistic and nationalist ideas had led to rivalries between powers. Germany, formed out of the unification of the remnants of the Germanic nations of the Holy Roman Empire, emerged an economic and militaristic power with a standing army that could go toe to toe with any other nation’s forces and an increasingly threatening navy. To the west stood France. A nation that had at one time been a great power, was now seeing its decline in dominance after the Franco-Prussian War. To the south, the Austro-Hungarian Empire, a union between the monarchies of Austria and Hungry, had in recent years began its push to the south enveloping minor nations. To the east, Russia held great nationalism, vast tracts of land, and a large foot army. The UK, being the arguably the most expansive and powerful empire since the 1700’s was slowly seeing a decline of its colonial power. Other powers, including Belgium, Japan, Italy, the Ottoman Empire, and the newest world power the USA all added to the tension felt in Europe.

The lines were drawn, the Central Powers consisting of Germany, Italy, and Austria boasted a powerful military and as the defenders of conventional monarchies and tradition. The Triple Entente consisting of France, the UK, and Russia all together held an extensive armed force, many colonies, and powerful economies. Tension reached a breaking point when Serbian nationalists assassinated Franz Ferdinand, the heir to the Austro-Hungarian throne.

Germany, being allied to Austria stood as a faithful ally and the war commenced. Germany knew that any type of prolonged war or a war fought on two fronts would spell disaster. To prevent this, Germany planned a blitz through Belgium into Paris hoping for a quick defeat freeing troops to fight on the Russian front. Their armies ready, there navies fueled, chains of command established, and a wartime economy prepared, the German War Machine was ready.
