    Default The future of socialism?

In early days I was obsessed with socialism.
But as time goes by, I am skeptical that socialism is the step in the right direction.
There are plenty of precedents which show so-called "The failure" e.g Soviet.
Is socialism turned out to be not the way out as an alternative to capitalism?

I think the future of "socialism" probably turns on how you define it. Certainly soviet style socialism isn't making a big comeback, but certainly programs fitting a looser definition of the term are alive and well in most of the world.

Socialism is common ownership of the means of production.

government run health care and education aren't examples of that.

Wrong.Socialism is a doctrine not an economical system. What you described there is economical system named planned economy.
There are Socialist Market Economies like the one of People's Republic of China.

government run health care and education aren't examples of that.
Those are examples of leftist politics, some could call it socialist programs.

The problem is that everyone is just too stuck with this planned economy thingie.

Just call it China, you dont call north Korea for Democratic People's Republic of Korea, or Britan for United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Socialism will gradually die out in Europe when it becomes apparent that its function will be to transfer wealth from White Europeans to Negroes and Arabs.

I would consider China more of a Keynesian or State Capitalist, given it's lack of significant wealth redistribution.

Redefine socialism as paternalistic authoritarian capitalism. Refer to it as being ‘progressive’. The ends justify the means so you can still secretly work towards laudable socialist goals such as social engineering. Because you’re a progressive and you’re doing things for the ‘right’ reasons anything you do is good even when superficially it looks immoral or even amoral.

The Scandinavian countries are good examples of socialistic policies applied well.

Yep. That's why, in Sweden, you have autochthonic women dying their naturally blonde hair black to avoid being raped by poorly integrated immigrants.

And of course that's all down to socialistic policies.

If your really interested check this series of vids out.

I think socialism or social-democracy is on the defense the last 30 years. The rightwing hijacked many of its ideals as well, while the center-left abandoned many of its ideals, and all in all it was a minus sum the last 30 years. We see some portions of people in this crisis getting back to socialism, but still most govts are deeply trenched in neo-liberal policy making to handle all thats happening.

I believe things need to get worse in order to improve again - "The successes of social-democracy made people forget they need it". Tony Judt RIP

Well, the 'leftist' parties themselves have become more rightist to. (e.g. Keynesian bailouts and stimulation, little control over the market)

It's both parties moving towards one another, in a grab for votes.

I would totally disagree with him, Europe has been practising interventionist and social policies for the last 30 years. And every financial crisis brings more into the mix with keynesian splurge spending more popular than ever which has almost completely wiped out the classical economic rejection of the 70's.
