Tilde key doesn't work with Romeshell anymore.

Hi I am having an issue with the the tilde key not opening the show_debug console. I have th RTW: GE from Gamestop and at first the Romeshell was hidden in my text file in the data folder. I manage to delete the hidden text an now I have it shown in the controls in the game. For a while in a campaign game, I was entering cheats fine with the tilde key. Now I am having a problem opening the tilde key again. I looked in the controls under options in the main menu and the show_debug console was there. I figured out that I could change the key to another key and now the Romeshell works fine with another key but not with the tilde key. I could have two different keys now open it (/) and (`) but the (`) doesn't open it. In the controls option, setting the tilde key does work for some odd reason but it doesn't work in game for that specific key but it works with another key!!

Basically all I want to do is basically have the tilde key work with the default settings again. I have tried clicking the default button and it changes back to normal of what I can see but the tilde key doesn't work still in game.

I haven't reinstalled the game yet so maybe I have to reinstall it for the game to work with the tilde key? I have tried to the best of my knowledge of looking through google to see what I can find but coming up with no solution basically.
Please post if you can find such a solution. I know its a very odd issue indeed.
