Make a barbarian empire with either belgae, averni or boii and let the reforms kick in for rome before you engage them ~ should be fun, but i don't know if you like to play realistically for your empires. Have fun!![]()
Mebbe move the cap to Pergamon?
But he said where to puts the capital, not what faction to choose...Make a barbarian empire with either belgae, averni or boii and let the reforms kick in for rome before you engage them ~ should be fun, but i don't know if you like to play realistically for your empires. Have fun

"By what right does the wolf judge the lion?"
In the middle, put the capital in the middle of your empire.
Unless you're going for historical accuracy or something.
Only accuracy im going for is a well developed and significant city. Im thinking Ephesos or Halikarnassos...maybe Antioch if i expand more east...maybe the original ERE capital of Nicomedia, or Byzantion

Sardis! Make a new Lydia!
Under the patronage of John I Tzimisces
Pergamon, the cash bonus is ridiculous.

When I governed Macedon in Europa Barbarorum, I used to go East, like you do - when I conquered a significant part of Syria, I used to move capital to Antioch - it was much easier to conquer Mesopotamia and Persia proper with a capitol there, although my western lands (which were the best developped) had problems with unrest and low income (I had to lower taxes to avoid rebellions, which was painful).
In my RS2 campaing despite my efforts to go east, powerful and expansive Rome forced me to go to war with it. So now my empire stretches from Antioch in the East to Emporioum in the West. So I have to keep the capitol in Pella, although one day I might have to move it even more West!
my main war is with the Ptolemies, although its pretty easy since the Seleucids all have elite barracks in their former territories that i can use, so i just pump out legions of Machairaphoroi Epilektoi. Might use Drtad's idea of Sardis, maybe Byzantion or Nicomedia, and/or Ephesos. My main problem is my royal line isnt the ruling family and i desperatley want that to change so i can get all the nice ancillaries![]()
