Default the pope has a son???

ok so i modded my game so i can make the papal playable, and and again to make it so they can have a family tree, thinking that the generals would be able to produce children and it would appear on the fammily tree, 2 turns later i see a silican princess, which i bribe into my family, turns out that she actully married the pope and now they have 3 sons and 1 duaghter

Yeah that's the descr_sm_factions.txt file, papal entry saying can have family tree as "yes" put it no and it will be gone so no use of tainting the guy's rep.

Ah, but troy7, you're being true to some of the popes. The most notorious was Alexander VI (Pope 1492 - 1503), who had several children that he then promoted to positions of power. His daughter, Lucrezia Borgia, is the most famous. His name became a byword for murder, robbery, and abuse. The in game pope looks saintly in comparison. Check him out:

Mind you, he didn't marry any of his mistresses.

This shows how effective was propaganda back then.
Lucrezia Borgia was only the tool of her male relatives to gather bigger respect with marrying her off multiple times (that's why she had to divorce). When she became independent of her family, she proved to be a good governor in Ferrara. (maybe governor is not a good word, but anyway)

    Yeah i thought the same.

Regarding Lucrezia Borgia, she was more a tool then really evil herself, She was married 3 times, and it was always regarding political alliances. And i think the youngest age she was 14, that says a lot.

oh update on the pope family tree, my pope produced 2 sons and 1 duaghter, vitalisis age 20, giovani age 18, and isabell aged 16.
when the pope 'died' on a tropical sea journey into the balitic area which are known to have alot of rebel ships.
so anyway he died and there was no successor event-no electing cardinals, no heir to the throne, i just lost the campaign

ouch troy - i guess that's the risk if you try to set up a dynasty when you're the pope.

yeah, i know lucrezia was a political pawn. it was her dad the pope, and her brother cesare that were the evil ones.

Originally, cesare was going to be Cardinal, and his brother Juan would be the general. But Juan was killed (possibly by Cesare, possibly by another brother), so Cesare got the general Job
