So I finally got 2 days worth of modding done since the baby actually went to bed before 10pm and I managed to stay up until 2am due to holidays. I remade the uruk-hai since the old model is so dated as I never changed them since the first beta of this mod (back in RTW 1.2 version). Even the Noldor elves and Easterlings had gotten upgrades since. So I finally got around to it and here's the result:
It's using a little bit more polygon (900 compared to the previous 700) due to the increased details as well as having hands with "fingers". I managed to make a decent looking hands that's only 42 poly compared to the 100+ of other hand models. The increase in polygon shouldn't make any change in performance since the lower poly model LODs are still there plus I got confirmation from Zhuge_Liang who made Aristeia mod which uses models with over 3,000 polygons that the high-poly doesn't decrease performance that significantly. The skin I'm using is still 256x256 too since 512x512 skin uses way more memory than an increase of 200 polygons.
The new model will be included in the new version of the mod.
