The Arab unit skins in this mod look very falsely depicted, they all look like modern day northern light skinned arabs. The arabs of that time looked alot darker with long noses, especially among the southern and Bedouin Arabs like the ones u would use in your southern Arab factions like Oman sultanate etc. I know its not important what their accurate tone is in this game, but thats no reason to falsely present a picture of people to other people playing this game.

These are some of the pics of what the arabs might of looked like(notice many Bedouins have braids).

there is no such thing as a pure Arab, simply because of 3 factors

A - human beings in reality are not divided by race but by culture.

B - Arabs like all human beings differ morphologically in accordance with the altitude and geography of their environment.
(Example, arabs on the eastern coast are mostly dark skinned, those dwelling in desert areas are red, and the mountain villagers are white or pale, but this is not always the case, - don't forget that some northern Arabs have brown and also blond or red hair.

c - all the known Arab populations have intermarried with Persians, Africans, Turks and Indians.....ETC since the dawn of human existence in the region

that is why there a great deal of diversity of how we all look like - in regard to the photos you posted, you must not forget that not all Arabs are Bedouin.
Arabs in north Africa, Egypt, Iraq, the Levant and the fertile crescent differ in their appearances.

saying that all Arabs have rat noses is like saying all red necks have buck teeth

both comments are offensive and uncivilized

cant we learn to respect each other rather than use such vulgar language

Actually there are differences in features between chinese n japanese, so some people could be told apart but that has nothing to do with this topic.

The rat like nose is not vulgar in any way, only way i could describe it (but its up to u people to misinterpret it).... yes i know not all arabs are bedouins but all arabs in southern middle east(that would include Jordan, Kuwait, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, U.A.E., Oman) are Bedouins since only 5% of arabs in the south lived in towns or villages rest lived as nomads in the desert up until the oil boom in the last 50 years and they all have a linkage to a tribe, i know this because i have lived in the middle east amongst them.

Matmohair, what are u talking about? i don't know where u got your B point from but that's not very correct at all. No they are not correctly depicted i don't want my Arab units to look like some actors from a old cheap Hollywood movie about the middle east, especially the General icons in this game they look like white guys dressed in Arab garments..

I don't know why some white people are so paranoid about racism, you cant end racism by ignoring the differences in people and being afraid to acknowledge those differences. There's nothing wrong in being different, its only racist if you use them for hate. My comments are not offending in anyway, if they were then i would be offending myself...

    I am from the UAE
    - technically I am Half Omani (Azd Arabs) and Half Persian & I also share some African and Indian genes, - even in my family some of my relatives are dark, some are reddish while the others white. it depends on were you live (for example the coast of Adu Dhabi, the sand dunes of liwa & wathbah or the mountainous valleys of Al Ain.)

there is nothing wrong about saying that some Arabs have pointy noses - we call if falcon bill
but using the word "Rat Nose" is racist

not all Arabs are Bedouin - the nomads you are speaking about are from central Arabia

the people of Yemen and Oman are mostly coastal and mountain villagers or townsmen not nomads

nomads are called (Bedu بدو A.K. Bedouin) while settlers and townspeople are called (Hathar حضر)

That's a ridiculous statement, think about it. China is a MASSIVE land, full of many languages and many diverse peoples. Japan is a tiny island with a few even tinier islands, with a much more homogeneous population. There is no comparison. The fact that you can find some Japanese people who look Chinese and vice versa means nothing in the larger picture, the same can be said of any two places which are nearby each other.

    @ Redrum
Rat nose is completely offensive. That shouldn't need any explaining as it is common knowledge across many cultures that the rat is a lowly animal. If you're from some remote culture that worships the rat, you would at least be aware of that in the internet age.

It is also an extremely poor analogy. In fact, arab people do not look like they have rat noses at all. Do some people have large noses? Long noses? pointy noses? Sure.

Have you seen a rat nose? It is a large conical thing, covered in whiskers, with a pink, twitchy tip.
