    Default MPC morale question

in MPC i was invading GB and in the final battle for london my opponent was led by a generic general and he had 60% armed citizens and 20-30% foot infantry. when the battle began, all his units morale in this army was red... before any shots had been fired...why?

then the duke of wellington came onto the field with his reinforcing army after the first army had been routed. their morale bar was green, but when he checked the moral number it was 5 for his foot infantry. why was it so low? for comparison, i looked at the numerical value of morale for my line infantry and it was 12 (i was led by ney).

yeah tyler has a good point about difficulty settings, and also from what i get a 9star gen will give troops 3 moral bonus but in game stats are pretty dodgy.

    this was hard/medium

still 5 morale for a line infantry just entering battle makes no sense. its not like it was surrounded by old guard or anything

if you are checking morale in battle it doesnt change. just like multiplayer BUT if you have a look at the screen before a battle that shows you the 2 armies you can see the morale of each unit as it actually is.

yeah but this is just bizzare... why would an army start with red morale bars? i can see why the armed citizens might, but why would a foot infantry unit start off with red morale? i will submit this to unsolved mysteries hosted by robert stack on lifetime television network.

it turns out, if your nation is bankrupt, it will adversely affect the moral of your units in battle, sometimes even giving them negative numbers. so that is the answer to the question.
