    Default Odd Sleep Mode Error

Hello. For Christmas I received a new computer. It is very good and plays all of my games on the highest settings with little to no lag. When I am done with my computers, I usually put them in sleep mode. This worked fine with my laptop and my parents' desktop. However, with this new computer when I wake my computer up from sleep mode, there is no display on the monitor, forcing me to restart the computer by holding the power button (whcih doesn't seem to solve the problem) or completely unplug everything and plug everything back in, which is quite a hassel.

I know this is not a major, life-changing issue, however it is quite annoying.

So any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Could be the hybrid sleep function in Win7 acting up.

Go to Start > "power options" in the search menu > Change plan settings > Change advanced power settings > Sleep > Allow Hybrid Sleep > Choose "Off".

Then see if you can activate Hibernation mode. It's basically the same thing as sleep.

It could also be a problem with either the video card or the motherboard, but changing the sleep settings on Windows has far less potential to go wrong than flashing your motherboard BIOS.

I have the same problem with my Gaming PC on an EVGA X58 motherboard. With both Vista and Windows 7 it never could resume from sleep mode exactly as you described.

Yeah i used to have that problem on my old Asus mobo as well the thing is in my case the culprit was the HDD driver that is installed by windows, i installed the driver that came with my MOBO disk and it fixed my problem, so try to do this in device manager hopefully it will be fixed.

Thanks for the info . I have been letting my computer run because every time that it went to sleep, it would not wake up. I will give this a shot when I get home. I hate leaving on when I am doing things that take time. It really bothers me for some reason.

What was this driver labeled as? The only thing relative to the HDD on my driver CD was RAID software.
