Default Strange location for a factions army

Have you ever been using a Diplomat, Princess, Spy, Assasin, or Army, and you were marching them through, then you see a faction Army incredibly out of place?

One English Campaign, I was using my Diplomat to get Trade with Hungary, when his path was blocked by, a Moorish army, In Hungary! I believe there was a Jihad going on against Constantinople or Baghdad, but it was still a shock seeing one!

As Spain, I took Lisbon and Pamplona from Portugal, but they weren't destroyed. I looked all throughout Iberia, but couldn't find them. When I sent a diplomat to England, low and behold, there is Portugal, controlling Caen. I guess it's not extremely out of place, but I was still shocked to find them there.

I've often seen them take Ireland or Wales, but never Caen.

I usually see rebel fleets in inland lakes

Same counts for me, but this is a first:

Proof that not only rebels get randomly spawned fleets.

Usually it's from displaced jihad or crusade armies.

These armies must take a route that is not blocked anywhere between them and the target city - even a single rebel unit can block a pass. As a result the Moors jihad to Baghdad might cause the army to cross the Pyrenees, pass through Dijon, go by Nuremberg, and then around Vienna to try to get to Baghdad.

The path of the crusade or jihad can alter considerably as the factions move their troops around. The player can use this blocking to his advantage if they are target of a crusade or jihad.

For example, you are the Byzantines, and a jihad is called on Constantinople. You can block the jihads from crossing the Bosphorus with 2 units - one on the west and one on the east crossing. This will cause the jihad armies to head around the Black Sea, through Russia.

In one of my SS campaigns, there has been a Sicilian army wandering around Georgia since the first Crusade.

I saw the Danish Faction leader with a full stack near Greece.
Probably got stuck there while going on a Crusade about 12 turns earilier.

I had a crusade army like that once.
However, my FM took so many detours (too many enemies in the way to fight through them all) that by he reached Jerusalem, the whole army had already deserted - AND another faction had already taken the city.
I worked it out pretty nicely though, and he conquered a few other middle-east colonies for my empire (I figured: hey, he´s already there...)
But I have seen armies that REALLY doesn´t belong where they are.
For example, I get just as surprised every time Spain or Portugal attacks Britain - I don´t care that it happens more often than not, I still find it ridiculously surprising!

In my currently French campaign, the scots had Adana, whit a full garrison!
I think that is the second time that i see Scotland join the crusade and really send an army.

P.S. When i took the control of their natives territories, their new capital was Oslo!

I saw a Portuguese army in Russia once, somewhere around Kiev. (I was Russia, so it's not like a Jihad was being called on a Muslim faction that had taken the area or something.)
